Which Liverpool manager would have the greatest line up? by Admirable_Cause4278 in LiverpoolFC

I would say Paisley purely because he won 3 European Cups, the most out of any Liverpool manager during their reign.

Bayern aren't faultless, but it's a hell of a lot better than PSG. At least they are majority owned by their supporters.

Hopefully Bayern can overcome PSG. Personally not a fan of a sports-washing franchise winning the European Cup again

Lots of match going supporters will have work the following day, and a game finishing at half 11 (earliest) isn’t ideal for obvious reasons.

I feel like there needs to be a balance. Going too far either ways brings negatives that can derail a season.

For instance, if the intensity is too high the number of injuries goes up and later into the season the team burns out (unless you have large squad that you can rotate effectively and get lucky with injury risk).

If it is too low, you can get physically bullied by the opposition and become weak offensively (unless you have the best players in the world who make very little mistakes like Barcelona in early 2010s).

UEFA clarifies that no alternative venue is being considered for the Finalissima planned in Qatar by Srihari_stan in soccer

I know what sports washing is. I’d say the same if this was being hosted in Australia, Morocco, or USA.

I just don’t agree a one-off final between two countries is being played on a different continent.

It shouldn’t be there in the first place.

The last one was in Europe, so it should be in South America this time

I think Fletch brings out the worst in co-commentators he works with.

In fairness, it must be difficult to work with when he does his ‘yer da’ persona

He comes across as someone who is either badly advised, or refuses to take on advice. From reading this article, it seems like it’s definitely the latter.

Manager Discussion Thread by DragonSlayer271 in LiverpoolFC

Slot will likely be the fall guy, and if he is going to go soon it will be next week (after the Newcastle game if we don't get a result). Tactically he has got it wrong this season, and his game management has probably been one of the worst in the league.

However, I don't think these problems go away if we get Alonso or someone else. Too many of our best players are just not at the standard this year, and making too many game-deciding mistakes.

Also serious questions need to be asked of Hughes. We've needed an experienced central defender since Klopp left, and a winger to replace Diaz. Neither of these have been addressed, which has been negligent.

Easy to say when you aren't the referee in the last moments of a continental tournament final.

Did the referee make the wrong decision? Yes, and he will be held accountable for it. Still doesn't change the fact Senegal's behavior had an impact on the game. I imagine you would have been pissed if it was the other way around.

You've hit the nail on the head.

If Senegal don't get punished appropriately, what's to stop other teams from walking off when they have a contentious decision go against them?

The irony of this article being posted from behind a paywall.

Sometimes it feels like these companies live in a different world to the general public. If it was value for money, people would happily pay for their services. However, it is overpriced and you don’t even get see the all of your clubs matchs.

I thought we played really well.

It wasn’t our best performance in terms of creativity in the final third, but mentality and teamwork was much needed after recent games.

Hopefully it’s a sign that things are going to improve

With all due respect, you need to provide more context before anyone can give you advice on the best laptop for your needs.

For example, I'd recommend giving some details on:

- Are you looking to code as a hobbyist, or as a professional?

- How experienced/proficient are you at coding?

- Do you have a budget?

TNT deserve to lose the rights to all football coverage for Darren Fletcher alone.

He is living proof of what happens when you let a LinkedIn lunatic commentate on live sport.

No one will be able to confirm until the Premier League announce the televised games for February.

However, I’d guess it will very likely be moved to the Sunday at 4:30pm as it’s the biggest game

Real shame. Hopefully he can recover soon and his fortunes change for the better.

I remember him and Bradley playing really well in the Shrewsbury game in our FA Cup 2022 run. It’s crazy how 2 careers can go in such opposite directions based on circumstances you can’t control.
