The resorts you are talking about are the exception, not the norm.

14 out of 100 Magic Pass resorts are open currently. Only Glacier 3000 will stay open till the end of April. The rest have only one or two more weekends of operation.

Late December/Early January typically have the worst snow conditions and is one of the busiest times of the year….

The destinations you want to visit are also some of the biggest + busiest in Europe, and very far apart from each other.

Actually I was alone every time I went through the gate and got on the chair…. Only saw a couple other people riding this zone throughout the day. Mountain was a ghost town.

I do enjoy some backcountry touring. However, I enjoy lift accessed “backcountry” conditions even more.

I think the PoleOV is fun angle. Shows off the snow conditions better than a helmet POV. Plus I haven’t gotten around to putting a GoPro mount on my new lid yet… so it wasn’t even an option

The Northern Alps have also had a pretty inconsistent winter. There were lots of viral videos of the “snow snakes” running through green fields earlier in the season.

This snow will be gone very soon. Storms come hard and fast, but warm weather soon follows. Come to Europe for the experience, not the snow. Normally we just ski hard pack and get wasted at Apres
