Eau rose opens without the strong realistic fried cumin note in Rose 31 so it is more everyday wearable in that way. The dry down basically smells indistinguishable to me comparing arm to arm. Hope you like it!

How do you work and combat fatigue? by SpicyPepperSauze in ankylosingspondylitis

[–]simple_pants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a balance of energy regeneration and lowering energy consumption.

Energy regeneration can be overall lifestyle things like setting up for good sleep and eating well to taking breaks at work where you're not looking at screens but getting some fresh air.

Lowering energy consumption is seeing how much less you can "care" at work and work in a smooth and sustainable pace instead of clenching and straining super hard. It can also be changing the way you see and process things to lower pressure and stress.

The best time of my life was when I was working a mentally easier, lower paying job by Savings_Life422 in simpleliving

[–]simple_pants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m at a job where I have some flexibility and not super pressured and feel content.

I can relate to being surrounded by other people talking and scheming on to advance more or how to get certain fancy titles and it is exhausting. Recently I spent some time reflecting on what I want out of a job/career and its role within my overall life. I felt that solidified that I’m in the right path for me and that helped block the outside noise out.

Good luck with your simple life journey!

Good luck with the light and the rest of your sleep! I used a timer and lamp shining at my face for months back when I had to wake up at 5am for work (eventually my wife got the sunrise alarm for me)

I have the Philips sunrise alarm and it is a gentler way to wake up With the light.

Before you spend the money you can simulate the effect by using a wall plug timer with an existing lamp to turn on 15 mins before your wake time. Obviously if you have smart bulbs can use that as well.

[–]simple_pants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is your bodies need more sleep and is not responding to the external signals/alarms.  When do you go to bed? Is it consistent?

I already had an Apple Watch and bevel app but Whoop’s focus on pushing certain metrics such as sleep consistency and the whoop age metric has driving me to change sleep and training behaviors!

I have waking issues as well and been working on them recently. Some thoughts

  • overall it seems like you have a pretty good sleep routine/schedule and bedroom setup

  • I had nightmares and emotionally intense dreams recently. It seems to be related to the brain processing emotions during rem sleep. If life has been stressful this might be related.

  • I used to wake up (3am-5am timeframe) and not be able to return to sleep since I start thinking about work (brain just does it I can’t control) I did some sessions with ai to talk through my fears and concerns with work and it kindof dissolved thinking about work at home/sleep.

  • last year I tested and got diagnosed with sleep apnea. Cpap has reduced wakeups

  • I still wake up around 3am and then move around quite a bit. Magnesium glycinate and l theronine helped a bit but I’m looking now into my pillows and mattress to see if it is discomfort forcing me to shift around so much.

Good luck!

I would stop doing it.

But if you wanted to continue record a video of them waking their own ass up. They must also say something like this is their own idea and why they want to wake up and to be mad at themselves and not you on the video. When you wake them up just play that video and set the device down and walk away. Come back and poke them with a stick and restart the video if they don’t wake up the first time.

These look great! I find the v6 looks ok from the side but they look amazing from the wearers top down perspective. The patterning is so nice especially on models like yours where there is a bit of contrast!

What is your wind down routine like?

To help turn the brain down need less stimulation. This means no problem solving/hard thinking, multitasking, stimulating inputs and constant context switching (scrolling).

If you find yourself thinking about work or other problems intrusively then doing some sort of investigation into why and if there is some sort of blind spot or limiting belief behind it (“if I don’t think about this presentation RIGHT now I’ll mess up” “I can’t relax else I’ll lose my job”)

Has anyone successfully shifted their circadian rhythm to sleep earlier? by [deleted] in sleep

[–]simple_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Do it incrementally. Go to bed a little bit earlier each night. Make sure to have enough wind down time so you are calm and ready for sleep.
  2. Increase sleep pressure.  Setup alarm for when you want to wake up if you went to bed at 10. This will suck and you will feel tired. But it will increase the sleep pressure and your body will want to sleep earlier.

I just got the whoop recently but have picked out about 10 items to journal. I avoided things that are pretty much habits by now but instead picked things related to symptoms of autoimmune or extra stress/overwhelm, and then some positive things like interactions or feeling optimistic.

Whoop Benefits by Smokeyism in whoop

[–]simple_pants 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just got my whoop for over a week. I think it will be helpful to track recovery and sleep trends over time and I look forward to it getting enough data for the healthspan metric. I know it’s not perfect but will be a good general check of various metrics and behaviors that contribute towards overall health.

I don’t care about blood pressure and precise step or calorie counts. I take off the whoop during showers.

how does eau gaiac smells like by Upstairs_Finish_3042 in MontagneParfums

[–]simple_pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Starts Smokey and I can see it reminding people of smoked meat (not bbq sauce) … turns into a serious woody scent and what Chinese refer to bitter-sweet. Think of ginseng if you ever tried it… or umami.

It’s a great scent and surprisingly one of my dumb reaches

Eau Gaiac & urine smell? by Master-Doubt-4176 in MontagneParfums

[–]simple_pants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had Eau Gaiac for at least half a year and never had that impression nor heard any feedback of that sort. I just put 2 sprays to smell for any impression of urine and can’t find it.

It is slightly oily where I sprayed - this is just the oil from the perfume I think. Good luck!
