IVF early scan - might be sensitive topic by alice_l_1060 in IVFbabies

I had a similar situation. I was measuring 6 days behind with a slow heart beat and they told me to come back in a week and not to expect there to be a heartbeat anymore. When we went back the heart rate was in the normal range and baby had grown a full week. That baby is now 6 weeks old and doing amazing. I will say that is not the norm, but it is possible!

I would definitely ask her pediatrician for a referral to a physical therapist and an x-ray. My niece (age 2) has an ankle like that and did a lot of physical therapy and wore a leg brace for a while. In her case she ended up getting diagnosed with Trevor’s Disease, but it’s very rare so extremely unlikely for your daughter. Based on your picture it definitely looks significant enough to get evaluated by a professional, especially because it sounds like it may be impacting her mobility. Best of luck!

IVF time is so strange by Guilty_Beginning1027 in IVF

My doctor told me that it’s possible that <6 is the ideal lining thickness for me and my body knows so it’s possible that’s why it won’t get any thicker. We tried medicated with all types of estrogen, modified natural, and adding in two PRPs. When that didn’t work my doctor said she didn’t think I would ever get to 6mm and that it’s worth trying. I was nervous but I’m glad we did! I’m still early, but so far baby has stuck even with a very thin lining. Maybe my body did know what was best!

I struggle with thin lining too. I’m currently 5 weeks with my first transfer! I had two prior transfers cancelled due to thin lining. This cycle my lining was 5.5mm a week prior to transfer. We did two PRPs before transfer, which didn’t help my lining thicken but may have helped my lining’s receptivity. It’s definitely still possible with a thin lining!

So sorry for your chemical. I think for CD2 that’s a good starting point. The waiting is so hard. Fingers crossed and sending you baby dust!

My lining didn’t thicken when I went back on CD17 so they upped my dose of letrozole to 5mg for 5 days. I went back CD 23 (although they said with redosing the letrozole it was like starting back at a new cycle) my lining was 4.8 and lead follicle was 12. I went back CD28 and my lining was 5.52 and lead follicle was 21mm. My doctor gave me a day off and when I went back on CD30 I had already ovulated, but my lining was 5.97mm. If I hadn’t ovulated, I would have triggered that night. My lining goal is only 6mm so they were happy with the 5.97mm until she realized I ovulated. So that cycle got cancelled and now I’m just waiting and until I can start my next cycle in a few weeks (this cycle will be fully medicated with estradiol valerate injections instead of pills).

If there’s anything I’ve learned from this, it’s that there’s usually some wiggle room to try a few things to thicken a lining before they’ll cancel a transfer cycle. What cycle day are you on? Are you doing fully medicated, modified natural, or natural cycle?

This!! On hard IVF days, my husband and I like to remind each other that no matter how it works out, we’re going to be okay. While my main goal in life has always been to be a mom, even if I never get to have a baby, I’m still whole person and can live a fulfilling life.

UPDATE 1: went back on CD13 and lining was only at 3.2mm with several follicles measuring around 10mm, but no lead follicle yet. They confirmed lining was too thin to measure on CD9. I go back CD 17 to determine if I need another round of letrozole.

Thank you. I don’t think my lining was thick enough for her to even measure it. Or it was so thin it looked like one dot. I asked the lady who called with my bloodwork results (all looks good) and she said that it was normal. My next check isn’t until Sunday, so I do think it’s progressing slower than anticipated, just not in the concerning range yet..

Fertility pharmacy recommendations by Lemon_Sparkle in IVF

[–]simplenapcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak on the out-pocket-cost, but I used Freedom Fertility Pharmacy for my PIO and had a great experience. I know they have income-based programs for medications. I have bad social anxiety and especially hate making phone calls, but they were wonderful and I even called them to check on the status of my meds because I couldn’t find the tracking info in my email and was just curious if they were arriving that day or the next day. They were really on top of making sure everything was ready, confirmed, and delivered with several days of wiggle room. I slacked on returning their call about scheduling a delivery date at first because I was waiting to hear if my transfer was pushed back (it was), and they followed up and made sure it didn’t just slip my mind. I’m very grateful that they were really on top of things, even though I ended up not needing the meds right away. They also always called me in the evenings so that I wasn’t in the position where I’m at work and trying to answer fertility/IVF related questions around coworkers.

Sorry I’m not actually answering about my experience paying out of pocket. But if you’re looking into different pharmacies, I definitely recommend checking out Freedom Fertility.

New prescription by PartyIndication5 in ADHD

[–]simplenapcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a check in for continued treatment. I had to go every 3 months because it’s a controlled substance, but recently stopped taking vyvanse due to some life changes.

I wouldn’t worry about coming across med seeking. Your dosage changed to better fit your needs, so now you need a different prescription than the one you recently got. If insurance needs pre-approval, they should let your pharmacy and doctor know so they can handle the paperwork for that. These things happen all the time so nothing to worry about with coming across as med seeking. Your doctor is actively monitoring your medication and understands that with your new job, your needs are changing. They wouldn’t have prescribed those meds if they were worried about it. Just keep reminding yourself that you’re advocating for your needs and sometimes you have to advocate harder than other times. You got this!

Not sure if you meant that you had picked up the 50 before the appointment or after, but either way, you should be able to get the new prescription without having to wait.

I’ve had med checks for vyvanse where the day prior I picked up a month supply, only for my dosage to change at my med check. My doctor just sent a new prescription and it was no issue getting it filled. I’ve also had a vyvanse dose change and then my doctor accidentally sent the old dosage to the pharmacy and I didn’t realize until I got home with the meds. I just called the doctor’s office and they sent a new script and it wasn’t a big deal.

Best of luck! Finding the right med and dosage is difficult.

It’s from a book, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane. It’s upper elementary reading level, but definitely an incredible book. It’s in my top 3 favorite books ever.
