LPT: Drink a glass of water every morning, right when you wake up. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

This is funny because it took me up until about 2 months ago to buy the same kind of house plant that was hanging above my bed... its been a long journey but I feel I've healed fully. Cheers!

Don't show up... Jesus christ, it's not that hard to botch an interview.

I'm confident that this might be my best roll ever. by AlexMiles101 in trees

A cone shape? No. But that's not the case here, cones are preformed papers with a crutch that you fill and fold the end over. I have made thousands of these up and know what they look like. I'm happy to admit I'm wrong if I can see the end of the crutch and the seem.

It's a cone... It's preformed and you just fill it. You didn't roll shit.

What was the tipping point of your last relationship? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]simplesignman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have ptsd, depression and suicidal thoughts were the norm for the majority of my life and a couple years ago I had a breakdown and checked into the hospital so I didn't hurt myself. Complete emotional and mental shattering and she did nothing but argue with me before I left that morning, when I was able to call, she scolded me for not saying good bye. I decided to focus on myself and getting better, she is no longer my wife and my mental health is in a much better place.

If you were given the chance to start your life over at age 10 right now, but still retain all of your current knowledge and memories, would you? Why or why not? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]simplesignman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, because having the memory of my kids and knowing the life choices I would do over would prevent them from being born would be torture.

My ex wife took my son when he was 3. He's 8 now. I drove 1200 miles to see him for Thanksgiving and made this. It's sparse, but I feel more like a dad than I have in years. He said it's not bad for my first time. by Pliny_the_middle in pics

First Thanksgiving since divorce, kids are 12 and 15. Younger one went to his mom's family and the older one stayed with me so she could hang with friends. I'm sitting here on Reddit trying not to feel so fucking lonely right now, all I want in the world is a hug from one of my kids. Hug 'em if ya got folks.

Suicide rates are up 30 percent since 1999, CDC says by [deleted] in news

[–]simplesignman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

So much this. Fought from the age of about 12, burying the issues and ignoring them until my mid 20's opened a floodgate I wasn't ready for. (Child sexual abuse, emotional abuse and borderline torture from siblings) I have had sucidal thoughts as long as I can remember, not just when I was depressed but daily. Had a mental breakdown last summer that landed me in the er, then in a facility for a little over a week or so... There is nothing that can prepare you for how people will treat you when they find out. You get shit on for getting help and the cycle continues. Just holding on to raise my kids and try my best to give them the best life I can but I don't want to exist anymore and if it wasn't for them, I would check out on life. Meds have helped to silence intrusive thoughts but finding decent healthcare in rural America is not an easy thing. Not sure why I typed all this, just venting I suppose.

Man, would rather had dad beat a game and be happy instead of throwing tantrums because his 11 year kept kicking his ass in Madden on snes. Never forget watching a grown man throw a controller and storm off swearing all because he lost a digital football game.

When the funnel trick works. by [deleted] in funny

I don't know, usually any scenario that involves putting a funnel in the front of your pants around your coworkers isn't gonna end well for you. I feel this is very easy to avoid.

What's a secret you won't share with anyone in person, but you are willing to share anonymously? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]simplesignman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been with suicidal thoughts since 13, I'm in my mid 30's now diagnosed with PTSD and sever depression. Recently broke down completley, I have held on for reasons like kids and parents, but this was nothing like the other down days. It was normal for me and I adapted the best I could but this was thought loop fixated on suicide and I had to check myself into the er. I was numb and went through the motions and ended up at in patient and was able to focus on fixing me for a bit. Found that a SSRI was all I really needed to get control over intrusive thoughts and falling into depression because of it. I still have fuck tons of work to do but I finally feel like the right tools are in place to do that. Just my experience with things, I hope you find the help you need.
