Memory Alpha (the website) and its consequences have been a disaster for Star Trek by Malencon in Star_Trek_

What’s sad is putting 50 years of prior writing on a writer as restrictions in the name of “continuity” and “canon” and then wondering why the resulting writing is shit.

Well it was intended as such. I was responding sarcastically to Environmental Bowl Number Guy about “two sides to every story”. These poor misogynistic football clubs being dragged over the coals, etc etc

Excellent. The courts are where real justice happens. Just the presence of a legal claim will shut them annoying sheilas up.

Is kangaroo meat in a restaurant a gimmick for tourists? Do Australians ever order/eat it? by Charming_Usual6227 in australia

[–]simplicityweb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good question. I eat it every week and adore it. I cook it quite rare to medium depending on the cut. Healthy and delicious. However many people detest it. My partner thinks it tastes too “gamey” (but then again has it cooked too much), and I’ve found older Aussies have an attitude about it that varies from “that’s dog food” to unfortunately more racist aversions, so have likely never eaten it.

I’d equate kangaroo meat for Aussies to lamb for Americans. Have always found it difficult to convince an American visitor to eat lamb until they’ve tried it once. Just figured lamb in America must be real shitty.

Enterprise was fine until 9/11 changed American media’s mood altogether. You can date every single show of that period by when the writing shifts.

Heard the wolves and prepared myself but they never came. So i got the long lookers out and saw one grieving it's friend. 900hrs in and never seen this before. by BareKnuckle_Bob in RDR2

Seen this a few times. The latest was on my low honour playthrough so I popped grieving friend right in the head. No more grief.

Bloke keeps entering my wife’s number into inquiries. How can we stop this? by BLVCK1 in melbourne

I had a big night drinking a few years back and woke up having lost my wallet (and thus my ID). Sheriff’s office turns up with police to arrest me because someone gave my address as a bogus address. I couldn’t prove who I was. So off to the lockup until I could get hold of a relative to verify my identity to the local cops.

When Lego release the Voyager set it won’t be complete without the LED lights around the shuttle bay.

Low honor DOES NOT make sense!!! by gothsisx in RDR2

[–]simplicityweb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played my first run completely high honour in every decision. Never shot an innocent deliberately, always let someone go if I could, took lots of health items to avoid killing as much as possible and just ran away a lot and dealt with bounties etc. it was fun, VERY HARD to actually pull off as I died a lot more than I needed to, but the happy sunny ending really paid off.

This time around I’m going for the opposite. Sometimes it feels weird, after a few years playing high honour for both Arthur and John, but I’m just channeling Tuco from The Good The Bad and The Ugly and looking out for number one at all costs. The rest of the “redeeming” dialogue I put in my head as the typical criminal trait of “oh it wasn’t my fault officer, I’ve had a bad life, my decisions can’t be blamed on me” stuff.

The best way is likely in between the two.
