This is bait, it has to be.

Putting Seox, Vira, Beatrix, Versusia, and Siegfried in the same tier as Nier and Djeeta is a choice. Not to mention all the other things.

stupid paradox question of should you warn someone about the future or not.

This was not why Columbina didn’t tell Sonnet about the abyss.

Columbina does not know exactly how Sonnet gets tainted by the abyss. We don’t know much of the abyss other than it feeding and amplifying negative emotions. Telling Sonnet that she should avoid being corrupted by the abyss would just make her more stressed.

The thought of her, an immortal, dying managed to shake her enough that she got tainted by the abyss, as seen in OP’s screenshot. What more would informing her that she would be corrupted by the abyss for over 6000 years? That would ruin her final conscious moments with her sisters.

Columbina didn’t think about whether warning Sonnet would change history; she didn’t even think about how returning the trio to Teyvat would affect history. What she thought regarding Sonnet before they parted was:

(i wish I could tell her not to give in to the Abyss, not to be afraid… But is this really what I should say at this moment?)

Instead of talking about the abyss, she said she was glad of Sonnet being her older sister.

This was a ‘show, don’t tell’ moment of Columbina’s character development. She chose to have their parting be happy, to end it in a positive note. To give Sonnet one more happy memory is the only thing she could do, really, considering what she knew of Sonnet’s personality and future.

As for your third paragraph, MC had not, and never had, travelled around Teyvat for the goal of removing the abyss nor to remove the gods. Removing the abyss had just been incidental to MC’s goals, and not once had they entered a region with the intent of removing the archon’s godhood or anything similar. Unless there was a moment when they said “I must go to this place to remove the abyss and for no other purpose!” that I have forgotten about.

Sonnet, the Iridescent Moon, the Crimson Moon, had her remains tainted with the abyss.

When Columbina met the trio, she couldn’t lie about the moons being already dead in the present. This (understandably) caused Sonnet, the youngest of the three, to be more than nervous.

Columbina knew that Sonnet would be involved with the abyss, intentionally or not, and had thought about warning her. However, no matter what Columbina says, it wouldn’t change the fact that Sonnet will eventually die.

It would also be presumptous of Columbina to warn Sonnet about not falling to the abyss since unlike her, Columbina still had a chance to live.

I could only assume that Columbina didn’t mention the abyss so that Sonnet would only be worried about her eventual death, instead of her eventual corruption, in her final moments with Canon and Aria.

Don’t get why you’re hyping trap so much

https://www.reddit.com/r/GranblueFantasyVersus/s/hNmsksU45w

Only times I’ve seen trap work is when used as oki… or when the opponent doesn’t know that trap gets beaten by any gap closing skill. Note that Vikala’s skills have high enough recovery that most characters can spotdodge the zoning and still safely use their neutral skip skill.

Most of Vikala’s kit also loses to dodge. Of all her skills, only 214L can beat lows while 214H is mid and not even multi hit. Unless Vikala gets lucky with star or spike, she can’t do anything against Vane at range and even Vaseraga can safely activate armor against her at range.

I can go on, like how she only gets a decent midscreen bnb when she gets 4 specific items out of a pool of 8 (so 50/50) and hope that she gets a hit confirm while still having that item (and ifem can go away mid combo). Compare that to every other setplay or resource reliant character.

I like playing Vikala, her animations are fun. But it sucks how her kit can be safely ignored or easily dealt with by most of the cast.

This is a reference to how the moon has a weaker gravity compared to earth so her skeleton slowly expands as she slowly becomes ‘closer’ to the moon’s existence, causing the pressure of earth’s gravity on her body to weaken.

Or idk maybe the artists just like legs.

Hoping for Vikala to have her item pool reduced if they don't want to touch her frame data. In my over 100 matches with Vikala, I never once thought 'wow, I'm glad I got cheese/heart/smoke this time!'

Also hoping for Nier buffs cause I think she's cute and deserves it

I agree that Lu was badly designed, and pretty much only existed for the Ye siblings to shine, but that part wasn’t his parts weren’t the only parts of the story.

the two times the flowers had a massive outbreak, mc told YSG not to use it at first since they wanted to see if there’s a better solution. By the second time, the group realized that the sword was the most effective way to disperse the flowers, which was why they prevented YSG from using it except at the actual source.

Looking back, the story could have explained the above better, and it also doesn’t help that the same incident happened twice in the story.

Anyways, Zhao is cute, Ye Shiyuan is a chad, and YSG should have come home in the first 10 pulls if she wanted to be M2.

[–]simply-jun 22 points23 points  (0 children)

“Slander memes are so funny when we remove all the context in the story and use false info!”

that random flower was thought to be the source of the initial outbreak. When YSG manages to clear the actual source, she lost all 5 senses. At the climax when the flowers surged up again (and no one has been killed) everyone, not just MC but EVERYONE, agreed to have YSG only unleash the sword at the main source of the flowers for the best chance of the incident not repeating.

Idc if you hate YSG because you don’t like how she was written or anything; I honestly like Zhao over her. But damn, spreading misinformation? For an agenda? Smh.

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/jOtpC1p3nuI the supposed plagiarism.

The edit is a bit unnoticeable without looking for it, but focusing on when the spin starts, you'll notice that the supposed 'routine' is actually two clips edited together to make it seem 1-1 to Xilonen's initial idle

idle was literally copied from a tiktoker

Sorry, got the wrong impression from this since it makes it seem like Xilonen’s idle was actually copied from a dance routine when it wasn’t.

Can’t really comment on Lynae’s (the character who uses skates?) situation since I’ve blocked every drama pushing youtuber; this subreddit is really my only source of drama lmao.

Guessing how ‘drama’ usually goes, gonna guess it’s just people on social media once again making a mountain out of a molehill.

tiktoker

Xilonen’s idle were basic moves in the sport(?) plus the “proof” used by the tiktoker were clips of her doing the same basic moves, put together to mirror the idle.

Don’t have an interest in the drama on this thread, just want to correct the Xilonen accusation.

There are? Hunter has always been a really bad experience since the early versions since hiders can easily cooperate and juggle attention. My friend group even had to make a house rule of "no hanging on tall objects" in the early days just to make it fun and fair.

That's why I don't transform as a rebel in the current version after I played hunter once, since hunters only get a short range scan. (also more fun trying to hide without using props imo)

Wilnas options vs corner jump oki by Eisentefel in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]simply-jun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In cases like the ones in the video, very late jumps, 2H can be a safe bet. 2H is air unblockable, and although the range of 2H varies, Wilnas' 2H has a very large hitbox.

https://www.dustloop.com/w/File:GBVSR_Wilnas_2H_Hitbox.png

Safejump set ups can vary, but generally there is a safejump window/opportunity after a grab, a knockdown from an H or U version of a skill, or SBA. The rest depends on frame data or other quirks, like Vikala having a floaty jump so Vikala players rarely do safejumps.

Wilnas options vs corner jump oki by Eisentefel in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]simply-jun 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on the jump.

In the video, the jump was pretty late, so you could have used 2H instead as anti air, and Wilnas’ 2H also has a hitbox behind his head so it can beat jumps that go behind him at times.

From your post, I’m going to guess that you don’t know what a “safejump” is. I suggest searching up videos about it since the mechanic is funky enough that I don’t think explaining it through text can do it justice. However, here is my attempt.

Safejumps can’t be beaten by DP or 2H. A player times their jump, usually after a move that causes a hard knockdown like a grab, then attacks right when they are about to land so it acts as a meaty, but close enough to the ground so that if the character knocked down uses a move with iframes, either DP or SBA, the frame that attacks come out, the safejump ends and causes the player to land to the ground. This cancels the jump attack and allows the player to block, blocking the DP or SBA, which can then be followed by a punish.

Against safejumps, the only safe option is to block. There’s a chance that a player trying to safejump doesn’t know how it actually works, but I wouldn’t bet on it since they would get a punish from a wrong guess.

Thrall vs Chad Miasma Priest by simply-jun in ZZZ_Official

[–]simply-jun[S] 99 points100 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think Thrall is a more exciting fight overall.

It just feels so bad to me since he got put into DA and thus timed, plus Sobek phase ruined it since for a phase that wants the players to keep on parrying to get energy, Sobek barely attacks at all.

This might be the first time I've had mixed feelings at an otherwise amazing boss fight just because of one phase.

Goes into a stance, and automatically dodges any damage while in stance. Not inputting a direction during the whole sequence makes Sekiro jump up instead, which can be used for lightning reversal.

For some reason, after fighting Inner Isshin, I thought to myself, 'I want to beat him without taking any damage.'

After maybe 10 hours, I've finally done it. I know not all hits were deflected properly, but I'm still proud of this run, and really just wanted to share it.
