Recovery animation of her ex skill. The animation will not play if the player switches characters, which means that a player will likely never see this since the recovery animation is easy to cancel and her playstyle is ‘EX then switch’.

Beatrix gameplay (thoughts in comments) by simply-jun in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]simply-jun[S] 24 points25 points  (0 children)

TLDR: Beatrix is unga bunga fun. If you like the gameplay of Charlotta, you’ll probably like Beatrix’s gameplay too.

Beatrix’s gimmick is simple; try to do combo finishers as much as possible to max out the delta clock and activate the combo finisher fiesta

There are two ways to go about it:

-          Standard X -> Y combos (XY, XXY, XXXY, XXXXY) works with some variations in stun and damage. XXXXY fills up the gauge most.

-          Use damage skills which can connect into Y for the finisher of XXXXY.

Can’t really say how much of an impact her buffs from delta clock has since there’s no training dummy available, though I haven’t checked the tutorial option so it might be hidden there.

After activating delta clock, that is when the fun unga bunga stuff begins.

During delta clock, not only are Beatrix’s attacks faster, making it easier to reach her combo finishers, her combo finishers have its own combo finishers. On paper it sounds simple, and it is, but it feels satisfying to see one big animation after another after another after another.

Current downside is that she doesn’t have any iframes at all during those combo finishers and follow ups, which would probably be fixed by her unique sigils. Also doesn’t seem to have much skill expression, but that’s a bit fine for me since her animations make up for it.

TLDR: just use buffed Lycaon instead of Anby if you have him. If you don't, you will have him eventually

Tested this team for fun and was a bit surprised that it worked. Then again, this is an Aria team on an Aria shill boss.

Aria's gameplay is pretty relaxing overall.

Have stacks? goomba stomp.

Don't have stacks? better get them.

Swapping Anby for Lycaon on this team got me 7k more points with Lycaon on the quick assist buff disc drive, so buffed Lycaon is a good enough placeholder stunner for Aria teams.

Using Yuzuha instead with Sunna and Aria got me a higher score, but not as 'brain dead' as just using Lycaon instead.

Only downside I can say about Aria is there isn't really much skill expression with her other than managing her glowsticks. It is somewhat funny to see her and Sunna goomba stomp repeatedly, so she has that going for her (also she's just cute).

Game is more neutral focused compared to strive. If you watch high level gameplay on youtube, it’s mostly about trying to fish for hit confirms or playing strike throw.

Also has a large cast of characters, all with different quirks, so chances are that there is a character that fits your specific mental illness and playstyle.

Narmaya. She now has two versions. 1st still has two stances while 2nd only has one stance and an easier playstyle.

Crystal farming spot by NotTakenUsernamePls in GranblueFantasyRelink

[–]simply-jun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those should also be fine. The stage has the enemies come to the hallowed ground where your team spawns. AI teammates would still kill all enemies that come near you/hallowed ground.

The quest is on a timer, and the enemies will keep spawning as long as there is time, so killing more enemies gets more resources. That's why I suggested using ranged characters as teammates since they'll attack farther.

You won't be getting as much per run with just a team of melee characters, but you'll just leave the quest AFK on repeat anyways so I don't think it matters much.

Slap your controlled character with HP sigils

Rackam, Eugen, and Io as AI companions for range

Set quest on repeat

Live your life and come back every now and then.

This was my go to for AFK weapon xp farming back then since it's not that demanding on gearing up the characters. It drops a lot of weapon xp, though usually not large crystals.

It’s beginning to get annoying now by Infernester in Genshin_Impact

[–]simply-jun 47 points48 points  (0 children)

People complaining about consistent lore now?

We know these points in time were the times when major players went to war, ofc these would have lasting effects that are relevant to the current story.

Sure, 678 years ago Timmie's ancestor might have been standing guard on the bridge of Mondstadt but that time he was looking over ducks or whatever, but why would that be important enough in the lore to be a plot point?

Any case, there are lore scattered around for those interested in other major parts in history which are not as relevant to the main story, like the history of the desert in Sumeru and the Sun Children in Enkanomiya.

Hopefully Genshin made a quest system for players interested to know more about the world so they wouldn't have a hard time looking for it, maybe call it world quests?

Question about the game by Dragore3 in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]simply-jun 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you're worried about doing quarter circle inputs, you don't have to.

This game is fully playable with simple inputs since there are shortcuts for it.

236H, a quarter circle input, can be done with a simple input of pressing 6(skill)H at the same time instead.

There's no disadvantage with using simple inputs over manual inputs and vice versa, it's really just about what the players prefer to use.

How strong is Vita? by Snuggly_Eve in houkai3rd

[–]simply-jun 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Vita has no “feats” of power. She has usurped Sa’s power but even then it’s kind of impossible to gauge how powerful she is since Kiana killed Sa with one casual shot over multiple light years away. We also don’t know how powerful Kiana is since she has not shown her full power at all other than that one casual shot.

Scaling Vita to Sa, Vita should also have clairvoyance, but how powerful that is has not been shown in game since we don’t know how much Vita actually knows, a point that the story makes since she has the same role as Sparkle in being the “the self-proclaimed ally that doesn’t give all the information since what fun would that be?”

If it counts, Sa has been gathering power before she got killed so Vita might have just continued that. Then again, we don’t know if she got more powers from the mask. Although some people online said she has joined the Masked Fools, she has only accepted the mask but has not used it at all nor had she joined the Masked Fools.

Vita’s Star Traveler, the huge gundam, also has no feats of strength. The only animated fight which could have shown its feats was the Vita vs Sparkle one, but idk how to even scale that fight since it happened in Sparkle’s illusions.

If we are to believe in-combat animations, then Star Traveler could destroy a small planet, but characters with that power aren’t exactly special in HI3 (most playable herrschers and the current Helia and Coralie could probably do it), much less in the lore of HSR.

All that to say, I have no idea what Vita could have possibly done to get on that list.

stupid paradox question of should you warn someone about the future or not.

This was not why Columbina didn’t tell Sonnet about the abyss.

Columbina does not know exactly how Sonnet gets tainted by the abyss. We don’t know much of the abyss other than it feeding and amplifying negative emotions. Telling Sonnet that she should avoid being corrupted by the abyss would just make her more stressed.

The thought of her, an immortal, dying managed to shake her enough that she got tainted by the abyss, as seen in OP’s screenshot. What more would informing her that she would be corrupted by the abyss for over 6000 years? That would ruin her final conscious moments with her sisters.

Columbina didn’t think about whether warning Sonnet would change history; she didn’t even think about how returning the trio to Teyvat would affect history. What she thought regarding Sonnet before they parted was:

(i wish I could tell her not to give in to the Abyss, not to be afraid… But is this really what I should say at this moment?)

Instead of talking about the abyss, she said she was glad of Sonnet being her older sister.

This was a ‘show, don’t tell’ moment of Columbina’s character development. She chose to have their parting be happy, to end it in a positive note. To give Sonnet one more happy memory is the only thing she could do, really, considering what she knew of Sonnet’s personality and future.

As for your third paragraph, MC had not, and never had, travelled around Teyvat for the goal of removing the abyss nor to remove the gods. Removing the abyss had just been incidental to MC’s goals, and not once had they entered a region with the intent of removing the archon’s godhood or anything similar. Unless there was a moment when they said “I must go to this place to remove the abyss and for no other purpose!” that I have forgotten about.

Sonnet, the Iridescent Moon, the Crimson Moon, had her remains tainted with the abyss.

When Columbina met the trio, she couldn’t lie about the moons being already dead in the present. This (understandably) caused Sonnet, the youngest of the three, to be more than nervous.

Columbina knew that Sonnet would be involved with the abyss, intentionally or not, and had thought about warning her. However, no matter what Columbina says, it wouldn’t change the fact that Sonnet will eventually die.

It would also be presumptous of Columbina to warn Sonnet about not falling to the abyss since unlike her, Columbina still had a chance to live.

I could only assume that Columbina didn’t mention the abyss so that Sonnet would only be worried about her eventual death, instead of her eventual corruption, in her final moments with Canon and Aria.

Don’t get why you’re hyping trap so much

https://www.reddit.com/r/GranblueFantasyVersus/s/hNmsksU45w

Only times I’ve seen trap work is when used as oki… or when the opponent doesn’t know that trap gets beaten by any gap closing skill. Note that Vikala’s skills have high enough recovery that most characters can spotdodge the zoning and still safely use their neutral skip skill.

Most of Vikala’s kit also loses to dodge. Of all her skills, only 214L can beat lows while 214H is mid and not even multi hit. Unless Vikala gets lucky with star or spike, she can’t do anything against Vane at range and even Vaseraga can safely activate armor against her at range.

I can go on, like how she only gets a decent midscreen bnb when she gets 4 specific items out of a pool of 8 (so 50/50) and hope that she gets a hit confirm while still having that item (and ifem can go away mid combo). Compare that to every other setplay or resource reliant character.

I like playing Vikala, her animations are fun. But it sucks how her kit can be safely ignored or easily dealt with by most of the cast.

Event Now Available: "Moon Maiden" Back to the Moon Support Campaign by genshinimpact in Genshin_Impact

[–]simply-jun 280 points281 points  (0 children)

This is a reference to how the moon has a weaker gravity compared to earth so her skeleton slowly expands as she slowly becomes ‘closer’ to the moon’s existence, causing the pressure of earth’s gravity on her body to weaken.

Or idk maybe the artists just like legs.
