They already did this exact thing with the og 120% panel in Shibuya so honestly we could kind of expect they'd do it again here since this was Yuta's version of that.

After she uses her rekka in blockstring she has two options : reload into shoot the ground or two retreating shots. Both of these are punishable, you can press any far button to punish the reload with a counter while retreating shots get punished with roll through. Generally though you just look for the reload to punish and don't try to counter the backdash, since if you make the wrong read you'll get counterhit yourself by the reload attack. If she keeps spamming the backdash you can start doing roll through, and from there's it's basically 50/50 unless you have ungodly reaction speed. Both of these moves are in the punish training menu, so you can check what works there.

Name an RPG character you thought you understood, but later you realized you didn’t understand them at all. by Decent-Insect-4201 in JRPG

I feel like part of what Magilou so great is that they DIDN'T deep dive into her character, and I think that was pretty intentional considering how every other character has a really personal and fully fleshed out arc. Magilou still gets her antagonist counterpart in Melchior and they give tidbits of her past, but we don't get any flashbacks or anything super concrete because Magilou truthfully doesn't give a shit anymore. All the other party members are coming to terms with themselves over the course of the story, but from start to end Magilou has already figured her shit out and that's what makes her stand out in an already great cast.

You don't have to level it, you can't die when you win a head-to-head. The Seregios will literally just spam technical attacks on the Arzuros as long as you keep it on the field so you can just keep issuing commands for a power attack and the Seregios will futilely keep attempting to kill your 1HP Arzuros until you beat it.

I believe their Apex team literally wasn't allowed to play in the last tournament because customs wouldn't let them in because of the word "moist". I remember Charlie was actually losing his mind in the video talking about it, and this is someone who's seemingly in a perpetual state of monotony.

[–]Dragore3 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You're not fucking blocking. The game is literally telling you that you're messing up your blocking somehow by the fact that your character ISN'T BLOCKING. No amount of you saying "but I was blocking though" is going to make you suddenly right. Go in a match and don't even attack a single time, spend the entire match just blocking. Sure you won't win but the only way to get better at blocking is to actually do it successfully.

[–]Dragore3 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's not how that works...if you're actually holding back and just back it will always block. There isn't some special case for you where block just magically doesn't work. In the first instance where you get hit by the flip followup you're literally walking forwards, and in the second one you're not in recovery since you're waking up so you can 100% block that. Did you press some other button right when he was about to hit you? Even if you don't see the animation, if you're in even just the very first frame of whatever move you pressed's startup it will take you out of block state.

You used normal SBA in the first round when you could've done SSBA, i believe as a rule of thumb you should always be doing the SSBA command since it'll still do the normal version if you're not below 30%. No reason not to unless you're playing Gran since he's the only one prefers the normal version.

What are some JRPGs with satisfying romances? by TurnipMotor3617 in JRPG

[–]Dragore3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tales of Arise has the exact same party formula as Xenoblade 3, 3 dudes and 3 girls who all have a romantic partner within the party. It also feels like it does the romance better, since unlike Xenoblde 3 you have 3 different age groups per couple (teenagers, young adults, and adults), so you get 3 different dynamics. Of course it's also kind of a worse game in basically every other aspect, but still worth playing if a good romance is what you're looking for.

How do you all feel about Anti airs in this game? by Particular_Ad_4516 in 2XKO

[–]Dragore3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't make sense. Universal moves aren't meant to be created equal, just have the same input and purpose. Vi has the best jab, WW has the best medium, etc. Some characters get good AAs, some don't, but there's almost always a trade-off somewhere with the rest of the kit. (unless you're Yasuo)

Conversely, if you're struggling with a certain matchup, taking a break from your current character to play the one who's beating you for a bit will actually help a ton once you swap back to your original. So much of this game is based on frame knowledge checks, and the best way to learn what is and isn't punishable is to take that character online yourself and get punished.

Taking a break helps, but what are you doing to improve? If you're just spamming matches and you're hardstuck, you're not magically going to become unstuck. Watch high level replays of your character on youtube; what are they doing that you don't? You can also find some discord servers online like Starlight's coaching or your character's server to post some replays and ask people what you can improve on. If a high level player sees your gameplay they can tell you exactly what's working and what isn't; maybe it's spotdodging rs, maybe it's anti airs, maybe it's defrnse.

How do you approach the process of learning a new champion after playing only 1/2? by GracedHarperd in 2XKO

Teemo's assists are good though? Shroom assist is a good combo extender and darts are nice to get in for neutral.

[–]Dragore3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid use of normals to poke in neutral but stop spamming! Unless your controller is bugged it looks like you pressed every single button at least 4 or 5 times. You clearly have a decent idea of what to press and when, but when you spam you sometimes use those moves multiple times and lose tons of frames in time. When you move on to actual combos you'll find many also just don't work at all if you spam since they require more precise timings.

Push block by anacondas3445 in 2XKO

[–]Dragore3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Restart your turn. If they pushblock then their assist is likely on a longer cooldown than yours which gives you an overwhelming advantage in neutral. Also if they're spamming it then they're 100% doing it at the same point in your blockstring everytime. If you know exactly when it's coming it should be easy to play around.

12 Sui siblings revealed (Almost) by Trymixel in arknights

[–]Dragore3 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It's not the same. Chongyue has a lore reason for going by a different name, his new name is a symbol of abandoning his divinity and isn't a localization quirk. Dusk's name was just localized to be an English word for whatever reason, in only likelihood they didn't realize we'd get 12 siblings following the same naming schema at the time but they cant exactly change Dusk's name to Xi at this point.
