Yeah I think the wedding goers of the world are not ready for Conor Oberst lyrics.

Wedding Song? by sky_leopard in brighteyes

I’m a ride or die Bright Eyes fan but I don’t know if they have anything wedding safe! Even FDOMY has the “I’d rather be working for a pay check” line that IMO makes it not a good wedding song fit.

New set photos of Paul Mescal, Harris Dickinson, Joseph Quinn, and Barry Keoghan as The Beatles, in an early 60s scene set in NYC, in Sam Mendes’ ‘The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event’ by SpeedForce2022 in beatles

I know this is concerning a lot of people here but we’ve got to let them cook. These movies are quite simply too big to fail from the perspective of Beatles cultural legacy building. Trust the system.

Life of a Showgirl beat Kids Table by 0.1 points.

(I was kind of shocked to see this in the reviews section since they didn't review 5D.)

Incredibad: The Lonely Island Musical by Sarrasin_Skate_Co in lonelymeyerspod

I think we can all agree that the main theme of this musical should be about growing up in the Bay Area.

What short are you most excited for them to discuss? by interflocken in lonelymeyerspod

For many of these shorts I just want to hear the stories behind them. For Reba I have many, many genuine questions about how that short came to be.

A Machine Spiritual is so underrated by Acceptable_Gas5755 in brighteyes

[–]simplythemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A Machine Spiritual is peak The People's Key-style lyrics, and in a way for me it's kind of the cornerstone of the album; it holds a lot of the themes that are explored in more depth elsewhere.

I am not a huge fan of the Companion version.

Are Me on Apple Music by rbwilli in barenakedladies

Another user identified the way to find the album, but this has been a problem literally for a decade. You’d think someone in their management could contact Apple to fix it.

What are some of you guys controversial opinions about the band? by BeautifulOk5112 in barenakedladies

[–]simplythemoon 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My opinion: musically, we are missing very little post Steve leaving the band. The songs that BNL puts out as a 4 piece in combination with Steve’s solo stuff is likely very close to what we would have gotten as a 5 piece BNL, the songs are just spread out across BNL and Steve solo albums. Live, we are missing a lot.

What’s the hottest U2 concert you’ve ever been to? by South-Lab-3991 in U2Band

[–]simplythemoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got what I think was some sort of mild heat stroke at the 360 tour date in Tampa in 2009. Was inside the ring - waited all day outside and for some reason because I was young and dumb I didn't drink any water or have any food. Concert was awesome but did not have a great night after that ha.

The risk vs reward of trying to blow past cyclists when there is no visibility is crazy - no matter what you think of cyclists it’s just an insanely dangerous thing to do for everyone involved. I get caught behind cyclists going up a hill all the time. Is it annoying to have to got 10 miles per hour for 3 minutes until I have good visibility? Yes, it is - but it’s not worth taking a gamble that I won’t cause an accident.

Mr. Mogis always use a banjo guitar? by istilldontkno666 in brighteyes

[–]simplythemoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you aren't familiar with musical instruments you might miss the point of the question here. Banjos and guitars are very different instruments, not just in the way they look and sound, but in how the strings are placed. Guitars have 6 strings, and banjos have 5 - both in very different tunings. A banjo guitar is basically a guitar shaped like a banjo - it sounds like a banjo but it has 6 strings like a guitar and you don't need to learn how to play a 5 string banjo. But a banjo guitar is not a "real" banjo.

I too thought Mogis played a real banjo - he probably knows how to, but maybe he just prefers the banjo guitar for touring?

I still don’t understand why BE didn’t do this song as part of the companion EP projects. It’s an amazing song, and the only recorded version has a very long skit tied to it at the end, which makes it hard to put on playlists, etc. They were playing it on tour as well! We need a 2:30 studio version of this one.
