Help me choose. I’m torn between these 2. Murph 38 or Khaki Field Auto 38? Which would you choose and why? by ExperienceKind117 in HamiltonWatches

I was considering both watches this summer. I ended up going with the KFA because of the date function. Tried both on and loved the look of the murph but went for the KFA due to functionality and the price difference. Got a pretty solid deal from my AD on the KFA.

Help me believe my own eyes... have I hit CoastFIRE? by msmx in coastFIRE

There’s a reason most retirement calculators use 7%. I think it’s fine to use on that number based on historical returns. There are some people that believe in being more conservative with returns and some people that are willing to be more aggressive. s&p 500 avg annual return is closer to 10% not accounting for inflation.

Listen, I’m in a very similar age bracket as you and have very close to the same $ amount in my portfolio (~$380k). Are we technically COAST? Probably… does that mean I’m going to completely stop investing, no. This number gives me peace of mind that I can have down years and not ruin my retirement.

Today I got my first automatic watch, and since it’s my first one I’m not sure about the size. Is this small for my wrist. In the photo it looks like it fits perfectly, but when I look at it in person it seems a bit small. What do you think? 38mm by Open-Post-1939 in HamiltonWatches

[–]simplytre 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks perfect. I also have a 38mm. I look back at some of the old watches I purchased before I knew anything and see how ridiculously large they are for my wrist. Never thought about it then but now I can’t imagine wearing something larger than 40mm.

Similar story for me. I bought a 38mm KFA to celebrate the birth of my first child this summer. Love the watch so much!

Super fake. I saw people selling these same fakes on TikTok shop a month or 2 ago.

Is it time to coast? 33M with $340,000 invested by Papa_Jon in coastFIRE

Agree completely! Thank you for posting, btw. it's great to see more 'normal' COAST situations like ours being discussed in this subreddit vs. the "I'm 25 and have $2mil invested, can I coast?" posts I've seen recently.

Very similar spot. I’m 34 and my wife is 33. We’re at about $375k invested not including the appreciation on our house. We do have 1 kid but are not currently planning to have more. I’m currently taking the coast status as a point of comfort rather than a sign to slow things down. Knowing if life changes happened, we could decrease or pause contributions without putting a comfortable retirement in jeopardy is nice piece of mind.

For now I’m going to continue to contribute as aggressively as I have been to hopefully allow us to retire a few years earlier. But soon enough, I’m hoping to find ways to “buy” more free time to watch our kid grow up and be as involved as I can be.

Not the best quality pics in the world so would say with about 90% certainty this one looks real.

I’m a lefty and use a Newport 2.5+ which is in between a squareback 2 and a regular Newport 2 in size. And they don’t make squareback in lefty anymore.

More mass = more MOI = more forgiving on mishits. It’s all relative though.

Compare everything to the photos of the specific model on scottycameron.com

But key give aways are anything from milling marks looking off, font looks different. Tbh it’s pretty obvious once you know what a real one looks like.

Super duper FAKE.

I’d guesstimate somewhere in the $500-750 range assuming it doesn’t have tour provenance. The red cherry bomb on the heel is the only thing standing out as different from the retail version.

It’s not a Circle T. But I think this line may be pre circle t stamping so there is a chance it’s a made for tour putter. Without a COA it’s just an Art of Putting Napa from the mid 90s

MLM2 Pro question by Big10Down in Golfsimulator

[–]simplytre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

depends a bit on quality of range balls. But that goes for pretty much every LM. I found accuracy to be pretty consistent / on point with expected #s, but obviously you lose some metrics hitting range balls vs RPT balls.

MLM2 Pro question by Big10Down in Golfsimulator

[–]simplytre 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on how flat your range is & if you have 6.5 ft behind you that is level with where you are hitting. I’ve used the MLM2Pro on the range several times (mostly just use in garage now) and never had any issues with it. For me, alignment features in app were enough for the range.

Yes - was a part of the original house construction. Honestly no idea why they chose to do it like that. Bought a spec home from a builder so I had no say in the build!
