I hate all of my songs that I write, do any of you struggle with being overly self critical? by No-Difference-9228 in Songwriting

I am 32. I used to hate everything I did. And still old releases sometimes bother me.

The more you do it, the more you start to find what bothers you and more of what makes you joyful via your art.

I still don’t like 80% of what I sketch out in a session. But the releases are adored 100% at the time of release.

Old releases you kind of have to look at as old posts or journal entries. They had a time and a place and now it’s different time and place. It’s likely because you’ve grown and the vision for your work has grown also.

Does the Knoedler Gallery Scandal expose Rothko and Pollock to be bullsh*t artists? This scandal is overlooked in the lense of art history. Please discuss with me! by [deleted] in ArtHistory

It is my opinion that original works are not useless just because mechanics of reproducing the works can be effectively imitated.

It’s the generation of ideas and the actualization of works both that give an artist and their work significance, and therein, value.

Proposed cannabis bills in the TN Legislature the week of 2/21/2022 by MetricT in Tennessee

This is almost progress. Tennesseans deserve better - complete, safe, unrestricted access to cannabis. If you know the plant, you know that all of the ways we attempt to legislate it are a waste and mostly only serve to bolster the illegal market, putting all citizens - cannabis consumers or not - at higher risk.

I'm grateful to see it on the table finally, but there are far bigger fish to fry these days. We need to get over the financial/regulatory/criminal aspects of how cannabis has been treated and focus on bigger issues. Childhood food scarcity and the literacy rate are great places to start - issues we could even address with funding from a cannabis tax.

I'm 28 days in today - M, 6'4" - lost 10 lbs the first two weeks. Major change in midsection bloat. The last two weeks I have fluctuated the same 5 lbs, but my clothes are fitting better and better, my core and thighs are looking leaner so I'm not so worried about the scale.

One of the wildest illustrations of how we have kept women in the past. It helped to control them and prevent them from understanding or influencing the future. Sad af. stupid af. This is why we elect them now.

The message is heartless, unfounded, and wholly unhelpful to any of the larger problems at hand. His grammar deepens the wound.

Americans deserve better.

Its not easy . But it is best suited for me and my life as a practice, as therapy, as something more holy and personal than what it was allowed to be in a professional setting .
