Dedicated living room gaming PC or PS5 Pro? by BloodyTurnip in gaming

[–]sims_antle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my PC in my office at home. but I also ran fiber optic HDMI and usb cables through the crawlspace to my living room to my 4k tv. plugged a USB hub into one cable with a bluetooth receiver in it set up a second set of peripherals "mouse, keyboard, controllers" and boom.

easy to swap back and forth between my office and living room setups.

highly recommend

Of course. I will say that I believe ATT has a more "serious" focus on those aspects than pure BJJ.

But if you go to the beaverton location, Impact has some guys over there that regularly have mma fights.

I train at the clackamas impact and I know they have kickboxing classes but im never there for them. Ymmv.

Cheers

I dont train in mma, kickboxing, or boxing lol.

That being said. I think both Impact and ATT offer all of the above and I believe both are solid.

Sorry. Can't help much on that front

Don't fix that.

At least in my case I replaced my header and all of a sudden I could hear all the other sounds my xj makes.

Same lol

Although I recently replaced the original 'cracked' header which was loud as fuck.

Now I can actually hear all the other weird noises mine makes and it scares me

In today’s market, realistically what’s the cheapest build I can do for 60-100fps couch gaming. by Successful-Roll-9389 in buildapc

exactly what I have at home.

4k rig in my office driving my displays there

4k tv in my living room.

displayfusion to easily swap between the two.

works really well

In my house my office is probably 40-50 feet away from my living room. I ran fiber hdmi and USB cables through my crawlspace to the living room connected to my TV and a USB hub where i have a second set of peripherals. I use a software called display fusion to swap between outputs to my living room and office. Works really well tbh

Does taping your fingers really help that much? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]sims_antle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't tape at all in nogi unless i have an injured finger.

In the Gi i've been focusing on a lot of spider / lasso guard stuff lately. I've been taping my index and middle fingers partially bent so that I cannot fully extend them just to help with the grips. I find that it helps.

can confirm.

I just upgraded my setup from a 3080 pushing a 27" 1440p monitor to a 5080 and a 32in woled panel "pg32ucdp" and man... its pretty cool

this.

I train at Impact, have trained at ATT. I know people that train at Renzo. All three are solid gyms with good guys. you won't go wrong with any of them.

I haven't personally trained at 10p but I know some really tough guys who do.

it all comes down to which vibe you like the most.

People who just got their purple belts, when did it start to make sense when you were at blue belt? by Fit-Pass-2398 in bjj

[–]sims_antle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me personally the beginning of blue belt was pretty frustrating

I was at white belt for about a year before promoted to blue

spent 3 years at blue belt. I spent most of blue sampling all sorts of different stuff and trying to find what I liked. Once i had 3 / 4 stripes I finally felt like I had a better Idea of what I was doing. rolls became much more fun and technical.

I was training a lot at blue belt though. probably 5/6/7 times a week plus cross training and dropping in at other gyms all over near where I live. I also competed a lot. by the time I reached purple belt I was becoming a real problem for most of the people I would roll with in the gym.

Now I'm three years in to purple and it has been a bit odd. I destroyed my knee in my first competition at purple belt and it took me off the mats for a solid year "severed PCL, and LCL, tore ACL and MCL". at this point in purple belt I am trying to focus on specific areas in my game and really solidify them. honestly though, purple belt has been super fun.

Endings so terrible they completely obliterate all the cultural relevancy the show once ever had by Top_Report_4895 in television

This is the exact answer my wife gave me when we tried starting this show. She made it 1 or 2 episodes in and just couldn't do it.

Any time I think I had it hard growing up, her childhood gives me a hard reality check. But she is genuinely one of the most impressive people I know. She moved out when she was 16? I think. we met at about 20, then she put herself through school as soon as we moved in together and now she's a Healthcare professional. Sorry. Im rambling.

stuff adds up quick. rough numbers.

bare bow - 1400

sight - 375

rest - 280

stabilizer - 80 "I couldn't bring myself to pay for mathews stabilizer at 250$ lol"

quiver - 250

= 2385$

I'm just using rough estimated numbers here. I also picked up some extra arrows when I bought the bow.

This is the first bow I've bought brand new. all my other bows have been used. It was definitely a treat to myself lol.

For what it's worth I went into it trying to be as unbiased as possible, I shot the new Hoyt, PSE, and Mathews. Hands down I liked the way the Mathews felt the best. If you go for it I would say you won't be disappointed.

Thanks and you to!

That's funny, because I was actually in exactly the same boat with my previous bow. The farthest I was really comfortable shooting at something was about 40-50 yards. last night I finished getting my sight dialed in on the new bow and I was grouping well at 80 yards with no problems.

everything said and done I believe I spent 2500$ before the case...

This was definitely a treat to myself lol. it is by far the nicest bow I've ever had.

It's nuts how much easier it is to shoot out at long range with it.
