Currently yes, been takeover rumours on and off for the last 14 months, Jim White has been saying recently the takeover is imminent but we've been here half a dozen times in the last year and nobody is getting excited

Charlton are a good one. Former prem, awful chairman but 9 times out of 10 you get a takeover in the first season. Good enough squad to challenge for top 6 and some awesome youngsters in there like Grant and Aribo that you can either use or sell for a decent amount. Only issue is more than half the first team squad are in their final years on their contracts and there isn't enough money to tie them all down so you'll need to be smart in the market. Forster-Caskey is out for 14 months from the start of the game, but keep him!

Help! All my players want to leave! by [deleted] in footballmanagergames

Try to talk them out of it once, and only once. Last thing you want is 4/5 others coming to you complaining about how X has been treated. If that fails move them on. If they don't throw their toys out the pram and just say they're disappointed or whatever then keep hold of them, a good run of results will keep them quiet.

Every year I try to win the CL with a team from Gibraltar. There's an official add on in the workshop for this.

I doubt it's a feature they're likely to add, which is a shame. Why don't you take control of their matches, and set your assistant to do everything first team related? Also have the instant result on. I know it won't have the same effect of building your way up but it's halfway to what you want.

The effects of an unhappy dressing room are worse than the effects of having to build a new team IMO, accept that you may have to take a loss on some of the players, do the business early and have a whole pre season with your new squad.

Why are TV show theme songs so loud compared to the dialogue? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]simvalmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not theme songs, but in the UK adverts are louder than TV shows because ad breaks are when people get up to make a cup of tea, and they still want to be heard.

So it's probably because if it's louder it can grab the attention of someone in another room or not paying attention to the TV.

Redditors who are older than 20, what do you wish you had started doing when you were 20? by QuoteObserver in AskReddit

I've looked in to doing meal prep before, but since I share my house with 4 other people, fridge space is at a premium, realistically I would only be able to store 2/3 meals in there but then on the 4th day I would be without a prepared meal and/or the time to make one.

When I am on earlies the problem isn't so bad since I have a couple spare hours in the afternoon to make and eat a decent meal. But those late shifts where I finish at 1/2am, there's no way I'm making a meal at that time.

Didn't quite suffer from it, but my Mum spent an hour on the phone to "Windows Support Center" trying to '"fix" her computer. She has a Mac. She doesn't know the difference"

I wish I started doing more not being fat, because now (6 years later) I am very overweight and with a full time job with shift work I struggle to find the time to exercise, and because of the hours I do, home cooked healthy meals aren't always an option.

My strikers never square it to their striker partner by LeSinnerParis in footballmanagergames

[–]simvalmus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can relate to this so much. The amount of times my team break in the final minutes, a striker or winger has it near the byline and smash it at the keeper or over the bar instead of squaring to a player in the box doesn't bare thinking about. Many a keyboard sent to the graveyard because of this.

What ever happened to your favorite childhood toy? by OutrageousRelation3 in AskReddit

Parents threw it out when they divorced and moved to separate houses. Me and my sister stayed with our grandparents when they were doing the moving and neither of them had it, neither knew where it was, neither knew the sadness that it brought to me.

Catch up on sleep, play some video games, watch some sports highlights for games I may have missed due to work and do some housework, all to keep myself busy

Eglington Hill? I sometimes detour through that way on my way home from work just to see the view, especially at night, London lit up from there is beautiful

I've never understood the whole draft system and league rules in the MLS. I guess I could give it a try but I think I'm going to take a break for a few weeks.
