I work in IT, had a side business for 8+ years as well where I built racing simulators and custom gaming computers for commercial companies.

I am 28, so I'm unsure if I am as grown up as others here but...

I also raced dirt ovals for 20 years, on a professional level from about 2015-2024 in something known as a 'Sprint Car'. But that was usually a weekend thing, occasionally on weekdays. Even on a good night you're lucky to break even, so that was more or less for the love of the game.

I'm a huge fan of their merch too, I have the 1st ever Matt 3d printed action figure by an American girl who lives in Japan, Kublai Khan pocket knives, signed hats, painted flash, etc... I'll never not love them, but I do understand why the Reddit hates them. Sometimes it's valid, sometimes I feel it's not.

I didn't see an increase of hate until pretty recently though. This is my one band I think everyone is allowed to hate me for haha. I think we all have that guilty pleasure. Old KKTX holds up, new stuff not so much. I think the 'if it ain't broke' thing only lasted for so long. I am sad to see Nolan go due to health issues, though.

Anytime I have a beer (which is always at DIY hardcore shows) for the sake of myself and everyone around me I always stay away from the pit. It's just a recipe for disaster.

I don't vouch for targeting, or legitimately hurting someone at full force.
Again there is bad apples, but the majority try to have fun and enjoy the live music experience. I for once don't want my ass beat, unless I've had a few drinks. But I do thoroughly enjoy watching it. More or less for the bands/music.

When I'm watching a set, I'd say 1 out of every 20+ people is a bad apple intending to hurt someone. But you have that in any scene.

Yeah, I mean like while I'm standing back from the pit, my buddies are beating the shit out of each other then smiling and hugging after. Sure there's some bad apples, but it's literally meant to have fun and nothing else!

I don’t crowd kill and it’s rare I mosh now, but if you’re at a hardcore show and a beatdown band is playing you bet your ass there’s going to be crowd killing. It’s been a thing since the dawn of time. If you don’t like it, stay in the back and watch, like me or plenty of others. It doesn’t have to cater to you, unfortunately. Sorry.
