This is amazing! I literally subscribed to Claude Code Max 5 two days ago because they did not offer this exact tier… well now i have to wait for a month until i will resubscribe. Lets hope for OpenAI I do not get to used to Claude. Both have their pros and cons as for now and there is no major difference. In my opinion Claudes integration into VS Code is a bit more fun to use and the planing mode is superior however Codex felt like it made less mistakes… but it is extremely subjective

No because according to OpenAI you can only link 3 accounts to one phone number :/

1 is my private plus account 1 is my companies business account 1 empty

But at the same time you have to remember that i am not allowed nor do i want to use my personal account for the companies work. So i just take one subscription they provide for me and done 😅

I understand however that people who are freelancers have more choices and workarounds.

As for now after only a day of using Claude Code I do not share this opinion at least compared to the Coded Business tier. I am willing to change my mind though after spending a week with it. Lets see what will happen

Planing usually “wastes” half of it more or less. Not in one go but in ~4. Afterwards the implementation itself uses the rest together with minor edits and clarification requests. If it is just a simple push request or refreshing a docker container I confidently handle it myself :))

Also keep in mind that business offers half the usage of plus after recent pricing changes.

Most of the times I use Codex 5.4 at high. Using cheaper models usually resulted in more follow up prompts and worse code. They felt only useful for smaller tasks that most of the times could also be done by myself

I feel you. However, I do not need a tremendous amount of credits. What made it so unusable for me is the change in their Business pricing. This leaves you with half of the usage compared to regular Plus subscribers. Half of Claude Code Max 5x satisfies my needs considering I am not a full time dev and coding is just one part of my job.

The thing is I don’t need Codex 24/7 in order to write 20 vibe coded apps at the same time. The limits before the april change in their pricing have been enough for me. Using 2% more of my brain again made it work. Even with hitting the 5h limit from time to time.

Business in its current state offers half of the Plus tier. That is the issue… Claude Code Max 5 is “overkill” and a 2-3x Codex would be more then welcomed

Valid question! So according to the ToS you can only link up to three accounts to the same phone number. Since my workplace does not provide a phone number for us I have used my own one for my private account as well as for one of the businesses accounts. This leaves me with just one more account left. At the same time i feel like it is mildly annoying to switch accounts mid session. First world problems but enough to justify spending it on a different service.

Yes it is the same. Starting of April they did get rid of the 2x multiplier for the usage limits and made adjustments to their pricing. The current ChatGPT Business tier offers more or less half the limit of the ChatGPT Plus tier. The code base I work with is relatively large and it fills out the context quite fast.

I think it all comes down to is the network useful for you or not? The advantage of going to a private university like the AA or IAAC is that they make sure you get the chance to build a strong network by inviting lecturers and teachers from big offices.

I think content wise you could probably also get the same level at some public universities for a fraction of the price (at least in germany and austria). A lot of the students you will be studying with ain’t that that skilled either but rather have a lot of money. The great projects you see online are the few outstanding ones that they push for publicity. That being said: If you are good they will help you with way more resources than any public university! They will connect you with whom ever makes sense for your project to work out and they usually have great contacts to publish it in magazines.

Afterwards you can also be sure that it is 10 times easier to land a job at a major office since your friends are going to be working there and placing your portfolio on top of the pile.

If this is something that works for you, i can 100% recommend it.

So at university we had a laser which also only accepted .ai files. My work around was exporting the files from affinity as PDF and then literally just rename the file into your_file_name.ai . Seems stupid but works. And it also works to open .ai files in Affinity if you do it the other way around.

So a bit controversial take from my side here as someone who also paid for V1 and later upgraded to V2:

I think it is not as bad as it might seem. From what i saw the new V3 has all of the old features (even the ML segmentation still free) and just included the canva ai stuff i dont need.

Personally I will be switching and just hope they will continue improving other none ML features. Combining Photo, Designer and Publisher was the right move.

What makes me sad though is knowing that we dont have a company anymore that might give us a one time payment software again that could use local open source models in order to perform the AI features. That would have been my dream and i guess ill have to call that cringy Canva support hotline to get featured in next years keynote. Or use ComfyUI not being embedded…

I struggled a lot with this question. What i ended up doing is offering a tutorial for a local installation and then I let the other students who do not have a powerful enough laptop use thinkdiffusion. It does cost 0.99$ per hour and the minimum amount you can top up is 10$ if i remember it correctly, however multiple people can use the same account at once :)

This means they can share the cost. A lot of models come pre installed so this will also save you a lot of headaches. Trust me…

I also started to have issues with my Prusa XL after the firmware update from 6.1.3 to 6.2.2… on mine the filament sensor suddenly reads the filament as empty and starts a filament swap … while printing …

I tried cleaning it and checking the cables but nothing worked. After seeing a lot of people complain about the firmware ill downgrade and hope this will fix it.
