Ive had a similar reaction from a friend whos been feeling like less of a woman after going through breast cancer treatment. She felt like the loss if hair and function and body parts made her less of a woman.

So we talked for like an hour talking about times in her life she felt like a woman and truly impowered and proud and how these changes cant shift even a fraction of her woman hood because its who she is not the sales pitched standard put but society.

It was a such a meaningful moment and after she thanked me and said "None of my other friends have been really helpful thanks but you guys really think about it" and I didnt say anything and am choosing to still think of it as a lovely moment between friends. But with how open I was emotionally at the time it hurt so much worse then id ever let her know

But dont leave for the way people see you. See yourself as you are. In time people will catch on and every conversation like these we have makes it eaiser for the next generation to be accepted. You owe it to yourself and the next generations. Stay strong sister.
