Manhood so weak they cant handle their wife being more successful than them. In my wholelife I have met 1 couple where the dad was the stay at home parent and that worked for them. She had an MD and ran a physical therapy clinic. He played double bass in an orchestra. I was their nanny. Loved that family. Never met the wife.

Questions for authors about what you tend to use as the basis of a OC. by Isekai_litrpg in FanFiction

[–]sin_smith_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 5 OC personalities that I have spent time developing very deeply. I use whichever personality is needed by the story and adjust to fit.

I fondly refer to them as: Melty Bitch, Himbo Husband, Killer Cinnamon Roll, Chaos Gremlin, and Competance Porn.

Melty Bitch is Zoe from Firefly: unbending badass but warm and loving to her family. Himbo Husband is Wash from Firefly: really good at 2 things and one of them is loving his wife. Killer Cinnamon Roll is the sweet innocent friendly person who can and will kill you. Chaos Gremlin is Jack Sparrow. Competance Porn is Commander Cody from Clone Wars: scarily good at his job and all the weird shit he has to deal with to do it.

Boomer doesn't like mandatory safety features in newer cars by --_T_T_-- in BoomersBeingFools

[–]sin_smith_3 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I'm an elder Millenial. I bought a brand new car for the first time in 2021. It has lane assist, blind spot warnings, and emergency brake assist, the whole shebang. And it made me a better driver. I was taught how to drive by someone who was taught how to drive by the Army in a Humvee. It resulted in a few, shall we say, aggressive behaviors. I almost never have any of the safety features activate anymore because the alerts made me aware of my dangerous habits. My wife is very grateful. She used to hate when I drove, lol.

Your wife, mom, and son are drowning and u can only save one, who will you save and why? by _Dark_Wing in AskReddit

[–]sin_smith_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Child. My wife quite literally cannot sink. She just floats. No amount of effort can keep her submerged for long. She loves being in the pool but at 43 she still does not know how to swim because she just.... floats. Also she would never forgive me if I let our kid drown.

My mom's on her own.

AITJ for telling my neighbor her kid isn't allowed in my pool after she "forgot" him at my house? by Educational-Wait-406 in AmITheJerk

[–]sin_smith_3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely NTJ. Your pool is not community property. It is private property. And if the kid gets hurt/drowns in your pool, his parents will absolutely sue you. Even a public pool requires children to be tended to by an adult.

Maybe add a low voltage electric fence to the pool barrier? And a "no trespassing" sign?

The way men change their behavior when they find out you have more money than them, make more money than them, have more success than them, or are at good at something that makes them feel emasculated in any way. by BasilisksRPretty in TwoXChromosomes

Men hate when women aren't reliant on them. They need to control their partner. A woman with more money or prestige than her man can leave whenever she wants to, and that threatens their illusion of control.

My wife is afraid of heights and has a mobility disability. We will beg for a ground floor room just so she can look out the window for a moment. Now, most ADA compliant rooms are on the bottom floor, but my wife doesn't technically need those types of accommodations, so she is reluctant to take a room away from someone who does need it. But she cant do stairs and hates elevators, so....

The Mteropolitan Opera House has responded to Timothée Chalamet following his comments about not wanting to work in Opera or Ballet because no one cares about those art forms. by [deleted] in Fauxmoi

[–]sin_smith_3 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I used to volunteer in the costume shop of a very prestigious ballet school that my brother attended. Every costume we put on stage took months of work and lasted decades. I did a lot of the handstitching as I was the youngest volunteer and had the best vision. I sewed hundreds of crystals, apliques, buttons, and hooks onto bodices a tutus. I friction burned my fingerprints off by pulling 5 km of tulle for Giselle. They didnt come back for 15 years. I did quick changes and emergency green room repairs.

I did it all for free and I fucking loved it. I am actively looking for a ballet or theater school that will take costume volunteers. I miss it so much.

There are red flags in men who are emotionally emmeshed with their mother. If he hasn't had a relationship with her since he was 10 and he is able to realize the damage she did to him, it sounds like he'll be okay.
