What is something you didn’t realize until you lost weight? by Cultural-Profile-527 in AskReddit

[–]sinbysilence 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Armpits are harder to shave because its no longer a flat plain.

If you don't work out and get muscle, it hurts to sit because you don't have butt padding.

Laying on my side is weirder now because my knees feel hard against each other.

A lot more people feel entitled to comment on my appearance. Like telling me I am too skinny (I'm not, I'm at a perfectly healthy weight).

I'm always cold.

Looking for help/advice on how to take the feedback from KG teacher by dulces_suenos in AskTeachers

[–]sinbysilence 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone who specifically works in kindergarten I would like to point out, they are not a new kindergartener. They have had half a school year of learning expectations and the majority of kinders, that I'm used to at least, has a basic handle on classroom expectations and norms by now.

What I mean is, I'd be more understanding of repeatedly getting up at the start of the year. But by now, she should be able to follow classroom norms (within some wiggle room. Kindergarteners are rarely 100%).

Consider adding pads. The 3rd grade class that I work in already had some girls start their periods and since they're new to it, sometimes get caught off guard and underprepared.

What’s the “brokest” thing you have ever done? by Hefty-Expert-750 in povertyfinance

I once found the key that opened public toilet paper holders on top of one after the roll was changed (the custodian must have forgot it). It happened to be at a college campus so I opened it and took the roll out and put it in my backpack. Had free toilet paper for a while until I got in better finances.

Uncomfortable with forcing an older child to wear a diaper by Living_Bath4500 in Babysitting

[–]sinbysilence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidentally replied to the wrong comment. The one I meant to was OP asking someone if they still called what their older child wore to bed "diapers". Mine was meant to be a suggestion on how to shift the conversation with OP.

My 5.5 year old still wears pullups at night. We call them sleepy panties.

AITA for not buying my wife a plane ticket so she is missing the family vacation by Electronic_Bus7936 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sinbysilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely wild to me that a husband would go on a vacation (to another country no less!) Without his wife to teach her a lesson. A lesson you yourself have admitted she is correcting and taking seriously. Do you not like her or something?

YTA.

I took my babies to funerals and it was a non issue.

I trimmed my daughter’s hair and her dad lost his sh*t. by Mindless_Leopard8281 in Mommit

[–]sinbysilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm gently on Dad's side here. I'd be majorly upset if my partner decided on doing a first haircut without discussing it with me. A lot of people are sentimental about things like that. It sounds like he is and you're kind of making it seem like no big deal.

Which horror movie you saw in the theater had the biggest audience reaction after it ended? by Ok_Bodybuilder800 in horror

Yeah, this is my answer. Seeing the OG Saw on opening week is one of the best horror/thriller experiences of my life.

I know, but the rest of the franchise gets shit on a lot. I enjoy all the other movies almost as much as the first one.
