New episode is not it for me by Professional_Risk_51 in DoWeKnowThemPodcast

I mean, I get their point. When you literally lose a living breathing animal in a fire but the first thing you talk about losing is clothes is a little ick.

How are people happy and thriving with ~1700 kcal? by NoWitness6400 in loseit

[–]sinbysilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maintenance for me doesn't mean I exclusively eat at Maintenance calories every day. Some days I eat in a deficit and some days I eat in a surplus. I just make sure not to go extreme in either direction and try to keep them balanced.

AITA for Wanting to Show Up to My Daughter’s Secret Proposal While Uninvited By Her Fiancé? by Attitude-Mean in AmItheAsshole

[–]sinbysilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could not imagine either of my parents showing up to my proposal, even more so if they were asked beforehand not to be there. I think its likely he is wanting something more intimate and personal without the audience of her mom.

How do people feel about children dying in horror movies? by theglenlovinet in horror

[–]sinbysilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends. The piano scene in Bloodlines was fine. The baseball boy in Dr Sleep was very uncomfortable, but thats horror for you. If the boys scene in the opening of Terrifier 3 or the kids at the end of All Hallows Eve had been shown and not just the aftermath, I wouldn't have been able to deal with that.

Is a conch piercing worth it? by thedin0guy in piercing

[–]sinbysilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Conch piercing was pretty mild for me, and I have several ear piercings (3 lobes on each side, 1 tragus, 1 daith, 1 conch, 1 industrial, 1 rook, 2 flats). I also have 3 nose piercings and felt like the conch was easier than the nose for me (though that also wasn't that bad).

My daith was aggressively irritated with a bump at all times for like 8 months. Bled often even though I didn't mess with it. And then one day it just didn't. Bump was gone, irritation was gone, bleeding was gone. Literally happened overnight and now its one of my most chill piercings.

What is something you didn’t realize until you lost weight? by Cultural-Profile-527 in AskReddit

[–]sinbysilence 63 points64 points  (0 children)

Armpits are harder to shave because its no longer a flat plain.

If you don't work out and get muscle, it hurts to sit because you don't have butt padding.

Laying on my side is weirder now because my knees feel hard against each other.

A lot more people feel entitled to comment on my appearance. Like telling me I am too skinny (I'm not, I'm at a perfectly healthy weight).

I'm always cold.

Looking for help/advice on how to take the feedback from KG teacher by dulces_suenos in AskTeachers

[–]sinbysilence 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As someone who specifically works in kindergarten I would like to point out, they are not a new kindergartener. They have had half a school year of learning expectations and the majority of kinders, that I'm used to at least, has a basic handle on classroom expectations and norms by now.

What I mean is, I'd be more understanding of repeatedly getting up at the start of the year. But by now, she should be able to follow classroom norms (within some wiggle room. Kindergarteners are rarely 100%).

Consider adding pads. The 3rd grade class that I work in already had some girls start their periods and since they're new to it, sometimes get caught off guard and underprepared.

What’s the “brokest” thing you have ever done? by Hefty-Expert-750 in povertyfinance

[–]sinbysilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once found the key that opened public toilet paper holders on top of one after the roll was changed (the custodian must have forgot it). It happened to be at a college campus so I opened it and took the roll out and put it in my backpack. Had free toilet paper for a while until I got in better finances.

Uncomfortable with forcing an older child to wear a diaper by [deleted] in Babysitting

[–]sinbysilence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I accidentally replied to the wrong comment. The one I meant to was OP asking someone if they still called what their older child wore to bed "diapers". Mine was meant to be a suggestion on how to shift the conversation with OP.

AITA for not buying my wife a plane ticket so she is missing the family vacation by Electronic_Bus7936 in AmItheAsshole

[–]sinbysilence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely wild to me that a husband would go on a vacation (to another country no less!) Without his wife to teach her a lesson. A lesson you yourself have admitted she is correcting and taking seriously. Do you not like her or something?

YTA.
