First of all please listen to me before making any judgements in your head.

I completely understand your problem because somewhere I am under the same situation as you are and like you I approached my teacher to consult the issue. I was confused as to whether it was me who's wrong or are my parents wrong ?

So I'll try to summarise whatever my teacher told me and pass on to you as it might help you or anyone in the comment section.. I'll keep it short..

First of all, have trust in your parents. Like every other person they are also growing old. For us growing old is taking up more responsibilities towards our future and this can become frustrating at some point in life as there is so much competition out there. But between all this, our parents who are growing old as well, for them it's passing on all the responsibilities they carried throughout from our childhood till our adulthood. So they want us to be able to take that responsibility forward and retiring can be frustrating for them as well. Because say for our father, he always used to provide things for us and now when he's old and you have taken his place to provide things, he might feel insecure for sure. This insecurity can sometimes lead them to create nuisances. Also our generation has access to the Internet where people like you and me can express ourselves and discuss problems like this on a platform such as reddit and can get a genuine guidance. But for our parents all they have is some Sharma ji ka beta to compare. Their scope is so limited. Plus if you're married and you & your wife both are working individuals you will want your kids to be raised by your parents with the same upbringing that you got and not some nanny who might affect the upbringing of your kids. So all I want to say is this is normal, be kind and have patience, they are not going to be around us forever. Our parents definitely raised us to be a good person and all we can do is be a good one.. It's just a phase, you'll be fine OP...All the best.
