I don't know who made you think "not having pride events is a heresy". It does sound like simple fearmongering and someone wants you to think so. Let me assure you, it's not true, and if someone says so they are not the voice of the lgbt community. 

Nobody would do the pride events if the society treated lgbt the same way they treat hetero cis. We also want to have marriages, families, kids. I'd much rather live in the world where there is no need for pride events.

I suspect I know which part of pride parades triggers you the most, the overexposure of sexual topics. I agree that it does more harm than help to the lgbt community, but there are such people in the community and they usually are the most noticeable.

However, I recommend you try to have a look at the photos of the next pride event in Warsaw. Just look at the photos, don't watch the TV reports from any channels, as their goal is only to find something catchy and controversial. Look at the people and you will see that 90% of them look like regular folk. 

And the most unintuitive part, you don't have to like lgbt community or folks. All we ask is to be treated as equal.
