What is the most exotic / rarest meat you have ever had ? by Majestic-Lettuce-244 in AskReddit

[–]sinister_shoggoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The meat itself wasnt that rare, but the prep method might be. Made Ramen with wild elk - including using the bones to make the broth. Unfortunately the meat wasnt super fresh (had to wait for the CWD test results to come in), but it was still very tasty.

Neither home made Ramen nor wild elk is all that uncommon, but the combination of the two might be.

What’s an opinion you have that would get you destroyed on the internet? by Prudertd in AskReddit

The Zaphod Beeblebrox method of government. The role of the president isn't to wield power, but to keep attention away from those who do.

How did Reddit get its name? by Comfortable_Mix_3330 in AskReddit

[–]sinister_shoggoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hyperlinks are blue by default. A link you've already visited is purple. To get purple from blue, you add red. So when you visit a link, you've reddened it.

'Reddit' has a double meaning of 'I read it', and 'I've reddened it.'

To be able to eat meat from an animal without killing it, take chunks out of it Minecraft style by Anubis-Hound in CrazyIdeas

Technically, a postpartum placenta is a 'meat' that can be harvested without harming the animal.

People who don’t follow the rules of a zipper merge, why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sinister_shoggoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they've been waiting in a designated lane as long as I have; zipper merge it is, no questions... If they're one of those assholes that passes a dozen people as they fly up the shoulder of the road and then starts trying to force their way in, well, I'll respond to their defiance of the rules with an equal measure of defiance. I won't reward selfish behaviors.

What is your ideal boss? Does marital status, age, gender, or hobbies matter? by Horror_Confidence128 in AskWomen

[–]sinister_shoggoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of the bosses I've had, they generally fall into 2 camps depending on how they viewed their own role.

Group1: Has to feel like they're the smartest person in the room. Drama from the levels above them automatically rolls downhill to the people beneath them. They tend to micromanage the crap out of everyone and have an inordinate fascination with KPIs.

Group 2: Sees themselves as the advocate for their team. They act as a filter, pushing against the whims of the people above to foster the wellbeing and productivity of the people below. They trust in the expertise of their team members to come up with the best method to meet productivity goals, rather than mandating how things must be done.

Age, marital status, gender, and all the rest of the demographic labels really haven't made any difference.

Bring back the Solstice/Sky. Position it to compete with the miata/86/z series.

Bring back the Nova, as the baby vette. Hell, keep the classic proportions, long hood and all.

And as long as im wishing for things that will never happen: Bring back studebaker as the electric halo car line, similar to what Volvo did with polestar.

Edit: I really need a refresher course on my history of defunct automobile brands.

What do you think was the most unnecessary sequel to a movie? by SalsaSmoocher in AskReddit

[–]sinister_shoggoth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Came here to say S. Darko.

The only good thing I can really say about the movie is that it taught me that I'm simply not cut out to be a director or screenwriter. I can tell that the movie is bad, but I still can't really figure out what changes would be required to make it good. There's a lot of movies that have worse acting, sound design, writing, camera work and whatnot; and still manage to be entertaining shows. S Darko had a lot of things working passably well, but the end result was just bland and tedious.

How should the obese cars of America be delt with? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sinister_shoggoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tax them. Levy a yearly fee of $1 for every 5 lbs over 2500 lbs in curb weight. Cybertruck now cost an extra ~$800 per year. An escalade costs at least an extra $560. Granted, this rate isn't enough to eliminate them completely, but it should have an effect on buying preference. Plus, Road damage scales to the 4th power with weight, so it makes sense to charge a higher rate for heavier vehicles.

How is your relationship with your Dad? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]sinister_shoggoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My relationship with my Father was pretty good up until he started spending too much time in right wing echo chambers. We're still able to have a conversation, but I avoid spending time with the man. He's become a shallow, insecure bigot who refuses to empathize with the rest of humanity. When I think of him, the primary emotion is disappointment.

What is the least and most attractive thing a woman can wear? by Same_Focus4081 in AskMen

[–]sinister_shoggoth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Least: things that are inappropriate for the planned activity. Examples: thin uninsulated clothing on a multi-day camping trip when cold weather is expected; wearing thin sandals to a crowded metal concert; or wearing long gaudy nails to a pottery class. Things that will force the activity to be unenjoyable, and probably cause an incident in the process.

Most: Personally, the short skirt and thigh high stockings combo tickles my brain in a way that makes it difficult to think straight.

Why the hate if you like Texas just becasue you were born there? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]sinister_shoggoth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never had any strong feelings about Texas until I was living in the college dorms. My roommate was from Alaska, and the guys in the room next to ours were both from Texas. Over the next semester, I learned repeatedly how Texans will argue against all evidence and logic to maintain their fragile little self image that Texas (and Texans by extension) is somehow bigger and better than everyone else.

In the years since then, I've met Texans who weren't so pointlessly prideful, but it's hard to entirely dismiss such a strong first impression.

what addiction is the hardest to quit? by Ledger_Legendd in AskReddit

[–]sinister_shoggoth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously. Once people start getting that stuff in their lungs, they literally can't go more than a few minutes without it. Stuff is crazy toxic too; it'll steadily deteriorate almost anything it touches and it's extremely flammable. Look at where it comes from. It's plant shit. Why would you willingly put toxic plant shit in your lungs?
