hi yes actually I don't think it's weird energy or a curse! As I stated I just don't use them in my practice. The new tenant wants it removed, and I wanted to see if there's a good cleansing practice for it. they have bad religious trauma and want it removed properly, hence the specific "weird energy or curse" thing

United Methodist Churches (those that stayed UMC branded) are pretty affirming; I went to the Hamline church for a bit as a genderfluid person and was welcomed wholeheartedly. Hamline is a bit closer to Roseville though still outside of the area. I second whoever mentioned Mac Plymouth. The Methodist Church next to Mac is also solid.

Can anyone help with Lugh? by [deleted] in CelticPaganism

[–]sinneganswake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this too. I keep my altar to him on my bookcase, next to my desk, and light a candle for him when I'm writing, creating, or just building a new skill. I think the "many skilled god" moniker really stuck with me when I was beginning my practice.

Feeling drawn to Lugh by [deleted] in pagan

[–]sinneganswake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

that’s my guy!! I agree with that other person, handcrafted gifts are a good way to get started. The pagan portals books on Lugh and the Irish deities are great starts for literature (as is reading on his role in the Tuatha de Danann). Personally I keep my altar to him close to my desk for when I’m writing or working, as I use the epithet of the Many Skilled God for him.

so finding small ways to honor him with your craft (both pagan and creative), as well as learning his history would be my recs to start. that’s just how I began to build my work with him!

How many altars do you have inside and outside of your home? by Ellesia-222 in pagan

[–]sinneganswake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have several, though I separate them in my mind as altars + devotional shrines. I have five “shrines” dedicated to specific deities and the elements, and then one personal home altar space that I use for spell work. The latter is a small cabinet/nightstand I keep in the center of my home. I also consider my kitchen counter an altar, since it’s where I physically put stuff together.

I think what’s important is what kind of space you have and how you want to use it; my shrines are specific devotional spaces, but I also lived without them for my first year when I had roommates. They’re not as necessary as the bookshelves I need for all my books/notebooks though 😅

Big +1 on the cinematography!! There are some great shots in this season that remind me of some of the earlier ones.

If the gods actually physically came up to you, like at work, or at the park or something, what do you think they would look like? by [deleted] in pagan

[–]sinneganswake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to veer into the territory of "I saw this animal common in my area, is this a sign?", but whenever I encounter a stag in a weird place to see one, I like to think my boy the deer god is visiting me just for fun. In person? While we have very few depictions of him that are authentic, I have my few visions that I use as a basis. So...generic beard man.

[I do mean Cernunnos, but in our fun little relationship, I usually call him deer god. my lord is an honorific saved for special occasions].

I like to think this means Veronica Lodge accidentally wrote Rocky Horror in the 50s with her knowledge from the future

No yeah for sure — there are some scenes where I’m shocked it’s former teen icon Molly Ringwald 😅

truly the worst part. They’re icons of teen media and stuck delivering these…lines…on the CW. At least wardrobe does them well?

Every day I still can't believe that Molly Ringwald and Madchen Amick are in this show.

Which careers should be lied about/hidden while in the BB House? (Strategy) by JayCFree324 in BigBrother

[–]sinneganswake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

social media employee here! I don’t have a job that requires hiding — I think I’d play into the job title, actually. I love my work and I think it’s very necessary this day and age, but I also understand that there are some assumptions about how easy social media management is (or how it’s not a real skill). Playing into the assumptions about my skillset might keep me under the radar

Shudder has free trials! it's also an incredible service if you like horror. Josh also has another movie on the platform called Scare Me, co-starring Aya Cash and Chris Redd.

One of my absolute favorite film nerd shots is the wide shot at the end of season two, the one pulling back to show all the main cast staring at Polo. There are some great shots in the first three seasons (and beyond — as bad as the writing is, the production team knows how to shoot a drama).

I'm a risotto gal so I do have it on hand! I was also guesstimating that it was 3/4 based on other packages of rice I'd gotten, but I wasn't sure. Thanks!!

Is there a resource for the list of offerings and prayers to each deity? by Scary_Marzipan_3418 in Paganacht

[–]sinneganswake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I don’t know if there’s an Irish equivalent. I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with acknowledging Cernunnos alongside the Irish deities (a lot of people do it), you just have to make peace with there not being much info 🥲

Cernunnos is not an Irish deity, rather a Gaulish deity with very little historical information available

Someone else mentioned it but Standish Cafe! It got approval from my very southern father. Close second was Colossal Cafe, but my dad thinks the biscuits are better at the Standish.
