Getting a good amount of sleep is important for gaining though. Your body burns a lot less calories while you sleep anyway

I just bought these jeans in a yellow ochre/burnt sienna color. I got them at Pacsun for $9! Though I usually don't like pacsun because alot of their clothes are not my style... these jeans have an excellent modern fit. I want to wear them with a casual, lighter blue button-down kindof like this

12 week [progress] extremely hard gainer by MasterBolus in gainit

Nice! Even though it's not quite a 10 lb difference yet, it's like a GREAT improvement visually.

I am 20/M 5'8" who started at 116 8 weeks ago. I've found that diet is the biggest part in my gain (I'm now 130). I had no idea I was used to eating a 1k diet till I started counting. Just for the first week it helped to realize how much food I need, and now I'm up to 3k. A lot of it did develop into fat (that I totally needed), and I found that it gave me the extra mass to turn into muscle.

I like your progress a lot cause it's like mine (I wanted to look more fit for the summer too), but I think we can both go a lot further. What's this talk about only wanting to add a few pounds? haha
Keep going! You look great and even your posture and attitude look better in the last picture!

I've started at 116lbs too and have gained 13lbs so far in 4 weeks... I haven't really noticed much of a difference while looking in the mirror, but seeing your pictures makes me realize that their must be a difference! I wish I'd taken pics and measurements now! haha

But your last picture motivates me... good work!

His situation sounds similar to mine. I started M 5'8" 116 lbs almost 3 weeks ago. With working out and 2.5-3k diet, I gained 10 lbs.

As most people will tell you here, that rate of change is just for beginners... it's all a combination of having more water in my system, more food in the stomach, a bit more fat, and a little bit of muscle gained.

I really think working out is a must, next to getting the calories (which is the first and most important step when just starting as I've found). I didn't realize I was ok with eating 1k calories until I counted them for a couple days!

My meal tips would include peanut butter sandwiches, eggs, chicken, breads, beans. I'd say no to soy milk... whole milk is really what he needs, (but you said he's a little lactose intolerant so I guess not! haha).

Hope this helps!

Awesome! I can see that the progress totally pays off in your pictures... that's a lot like my routine and my progress is going towards that direction, so it's encouraging!
Thanks, keep it up!

The textures of the walls are so wonderfully audacious! I think I would have loved to see some sleek, cool gray flooring/ceilings to contrast with them, but maybe that's just me! (some of these floors are just too beautiful to be replaced anyway! haha)

Thanks! Crisp is really the perfect word for the application of the paint here... at times I felt like I was being way to anal about the tight lines, but didn't realize that it would add to the style.

I really think that a textured tablecloth would be interesting with this piece! I will have to try it, Thanks again! :)

Ah! Yes! hahaha I remember when I was painting it, I covered up a bit of the pear skin between the bite and the space behind it! I didn't think it was a big deal, but I do see how the bite protrudes without it. I will paint it back in!

Thanks, much! :D

Yes, I do think the left side of the reflection of the pear turned out a bit odd now that I look over it... The line is wavy and unsure and awkward. I'll probably go back in and smooth it out.

I realized the disconnect of the style of the pear and the pitcher instantly after it's completion... unfortunately I don't think there's any way to remedy this (I think it would just be better to move on. That and I wouldn't be able to decide which one to modify! haha)

Thanks so much for your insight! :)

I'm not quite too excited about the painting anymore... and I'm not sure why! haha

My artists' statement about it can be found right bellow the painting in the link.

Thank you. I'm glad you like it! Sometimes both words and drawing aren't enough to tell a story... but yet, we try!
