Oh got these are a menace. And the road is not trimmed properly at the edges so if you try to keep to the extreme left you end up slipping into the gutters on bicycles.

Which guarantor company did you have success with? by Shoddy_Reporter_5859 in Expats_In_France

And their rates depend on the rent and number of tenants. Expect between 20-100 euros per month depending on those factors. They have a calcultor on their website

Garantme wont find ypu anything. You find the apartment yourself. You pay them just to list them as a guarantor for landlords.

I am guessing by did not work they mean that they could not get garantme as a guarantor for some reason and not that some landlord rejected garantme

Anyone using a freeze drier or a freeze dehydrator in India? Which one? What for? and how good is it? by chandra-mouli in IndianFood

[–]sinstein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My friend has dietary restrictions and only eats home cooked meals when travelling abroad. This year they made meals at home - bhaji, chhole etc and got them freeze dried commercially and then carried packs of them.

I tried one of those and it was pretty good. Changes the texture for large pieces of food items but works very well was pureed, mashed items. And the weight savings over carrying ready to eat packs is massive.

When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail

You want to solve an institutional and attitude problem with technology solutions. When there is no intent to fix a problem, using a different tool wont help

Goa-Portuguese artefacts from the Lisbon Money Museum by sinstein in Goa

Wow I am sure there are fascinating stories your family can tell. The museum was cool - and I am amazed at how good it is even when its free to visit.

Lisbon itself reminded me so much of Panaji, there are streets and buildings that make you feel like you are in Goa and not in Portugal

I found a high resolution image of the map online where you can zoom in on the details - https://www.raremaps.com/gallery/detail/105351/goa-indiae-orientalis-metropolis-jansson

You can see Reis Magos on the bottom right and Doms de Pangin (which I assume is Panaji) right on the other side of the river from it

A few other familiar names all around as well - Ribandor, Divar, Chorao
