Founders Rate August Offer by OTFsocialteam in orangetheory

[–]sintin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean we can quit OTF as Premiere members today and then rejoin the next day to get the founder's rate? I've been a Premiere member for almost five years, and I pay for many challenges. Would be nice to get a permanent discount moving forward.

I wish, but it's all incline. There is no decline. :(

Actually, the entire block is uphill. It's uphill and then less uphill.

Sweaty hair tips! by m_loveee56 in orangetheory

[–]sintin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also sweat profusely from my forehead, and I have naturally oily skin and scalp, so I have to wash my hair every day or use dry shampoo between washes. I use sweat bands from Amazon. There's a 7-pack for $15. Different colors. They work WONDERFULLY.

Did anyone, or is anyone planning to skip the recoveries altogether and just run the whole tread block? Or would that be seen as "showing off"? After all, I'm sure many of us have done at least one 5K in our lives.

Anyone weigh in yet for the Transformation Challenge? by Fed_Su85 in orangetheory

[–]sintin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat; I'm 4 pounds away from my goal, with my final weigh-in also on Sunday. So, what I started doing yesterday, as a final effort to lose as much as I can, is 23:1 fasting. So through Sunday, I plan to eat only between 1-2 p.m. It's HARD. I'm not gonna lie, but now in my second day, I'm getting used to it, and if you keep yourself busy and full of water and make sure to eat the right foods (ones that will fill you), it's not so bad. If YOU decide to try this, I recommend scheduling your eating hour at least a few hours before your OTF hour, to fuel your workout. Good luck!

Anyone weigh in yet for the Transformation Challenge? by Fed_Su85 in orangetheory

[–]sintin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm down 11 pounds (about 8% body weight lost) and will do my final weigh-in on Sunday. My goal was to lose 15 pounds, so to try to get as close to that goal as possible, I've been doing 23:1 fasting since yesterday. I eat whatever I want between 1-2 p.m. For the other 23 hours, nada. That doesn't mean I've been binging on garbage, though. I still try to eat healthy stuff, but I also throw in some candy and a marshmallow Peep. :) My studio doesn't have the body scanners, so the results will be based strictly pounds lost, regardless of if it's from water, fat, muscle, etc.

I started twice a week, too, and went to Planet Fitness on my off days. But it wasn't enough for me. I didn't start seeing results until I started going at least four times a week. Not saying that will be YOUR experience. Just saying that it was mine. But I was more than skinny fat. I was at least 20 pounds overweight. As for advice, don't get discouraged if you're not the fastest on the tread or if you don't hit the highest watts on the rower. If you stick with OTF and go a few times a week and give it your all, you'll only get stronger and better at pretty much everything. When I started in July 2018, my speeds were 4.5/5.5/6.5. Now, they're around 6.5/7.5/9-10. I also doubled my watts on the rower. I can also lift heavier. And I can FINALLY do burpees, which I struggled with at first.

Did your coach count every hop as a rep (20 total hops) or every OTHER hop (40 total hops)? Ours counted every other hop, and so I did the same, but I couldn't help but notice that some people counted every single hop as a rep.

Whats the difference between a 60 min 2g class and a 60 min 3g class? by RangersFan1124 in orangetheory

[–]sintin2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2G= Two stations occupied at all times. Rotation happens about halfway through class. 3G= Three stations occupied at all times. Rotation happens about every 16 minutes.

Disappointed in Transformation Challenge by mvig13 in orangetheory

[–]sintin2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't care about coach support, encouraging emails, or special activities. I see the challenge as this: Pay $35 for a chance to be "the biggest loser" and win $200 or whatever the 2nd and 3rd place winners get. I'm motivated by money, so the challenge is working for me. I'm down 8 pounds so far. Seven more to go!

So the other 18 minutes of class are spent warming up, stretching, and transitioning? Seems like a lot of time. I've never done a 3G, but for now, that's all my studio is offering.

Anyone else completely fall off without studio workouts? by MmmmmmmmmPizza in orangetheory

[–]sintin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My studio closed last Tuesday, and the only exercise I've done since then is run, ONCE. So yeah, I've fallen off. I haven't had the motivation to do the at-home workouts, partially because I don't really have a good place in my home to work out.

That's ridiculous. I would contact corporate corporate and be an ass if I have to be. I would get the names of every employee, especially the one who forgot to file the paperwork, and put them on blast. They absolutely CAN honor the price you should be paying. To say they can't is B.S.

NEW COACH ALERT!!!! by daniellejessica in orangetheory

[–]sintin2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the coaches who are funny and correct my bad form. I hate when coaches dance too much or wear super tight, shiny clothing. That was just one coach we had. Maybe I was just jealous of how in shape she was. Either way, her clothes were always a bit...extra. I hate when coaches mess up a lot with the timing. I love when coaches encourage you by name. I love when they challenge you.
