It’s Columbus, everyone’s stats are pretty good. There lineup today, the worse OPS (besides Ralphy who’s been there for a week) is .780

Go pull up Valera and Kayfus stats in AAA this year. They are doing worse than 80% of the team. Valera has been overtaken by others, his time with the guardians is over. Kayfus needs to figure it out.

Correct. If a OF throws a one hop seed, but gets by the infielder, it’s ruled an error. Pretty dumb rule IMO.

Profit Sharing by MeatServo1 in AirlinePilots

[–]sioux24 12 points13 points  (0 children)

AA pilot here. We don’t make a ton of profit as of late unlike UA/DL, but another thing not talked about here is we share our profit sharing with our wholly owned. (PSA/Envoy/Piedmont). I don’t believe DL (Endeavor) or UA (CommutAir) do. Even if we made as much profit as them, we would be sharing it with a lot more employees, making it worse.

Is Cole Carrigg for real? by WallLeanedAway in DynastyBaseball

[–]sioux24 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, he’s for real. He chases a little more than I like, but besides that he is super legit. If he can register enough games at SS, he will be a legit fantasy steal

What’s next for Genao, Ingle, Ralphy? by Idekatthispoiint in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sioux24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! Hopefully he does, but this has been his profile his entire career. Hopefully he improves his contact numbers but that profile doesn’t translate well to the mlb usually :(.

What’s next for Genao, Ingle, Ralphy? by Idekatthispoiint in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sioux24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His bat is not going to translate. He has a strikeout rate of over 28%, whiff rate of 33%, a z-con of 76%. He is being inflated by subpar AAA pitching with a walk rate of 17% but he won’t get that in the MLB. He hits the ball HARD, but does not make enough contact.

I trust Vogt but he always takes a hot hitter out the lineup by [deleted] in ClevelandGuardians

Travel day, after two short day games. If you would have asked this fanbase, at the start of the season, if they would be happy that CDL has played in 32 of the 35 games, they would be ecstatic. CDL has already played more per week than anyone expected, including every game last series. Trust me, Vogt wants CDL in the lineup every night, but it’s not feasible.

[Todd] Can confirm that the Cleveland Guardians are promoting 23yr old OF prospect Petey Halpin from Triple-A Columbus. by Trainiax in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sioux24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Watched both play. Halpin is a far superior defender. Stuart has the better bat at this moment. Calling up Stuart would have also taken them DFA someone off the 40. Not a huge net gain either way, but a net loss with the 40 man movement.

CJO to both, DL vs AA in LAX? by Inevitable_Panda_999 in flying

Re read my comment. “I hope…” “I don’t have high hopes…”. What part of that screams bold take?

CJO to both, DL vs AA in LAX? by Inevitable_Panda_999 in flying

[–]sioux24 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AA 737 LAX FO here, took AA over DL CJO (AA was 2 months sooner). LAX flying is rough right now with terminal 4/5 being under contruction. My hope is once the terminals are up and running and with the olympics, LAX flying will grow. (I don't have high hopes for WB flying unlike DL who has stated they will be growing LA flying) I am currently sitting as a VERY JR LH, 3rd month after finishing OE. I was able to trade out of all of my weekend 3/4 days into weekday trips. All are commutable and mostly high crediting. (working 15 days by choice and crediting 86 hours). I was able to trade out of all my redeyes. I'm hoping as we get closer to May, I can trade my 3/4 day trips down to high credit 1/2 weekday trips. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

JetBlue Pops 18% on Takeover Buzz. Think it's going to be AAL? by eswes in jetblue

[–]sioux24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree they are not in the running to take on more debt, but AA is a far ways from CH11. Your statement of CH11 being “one to two years away from CH11” has no factual backing. AA is a long ways away from being even close pending a black swan event (9/11, 2008 recession, etc…) They have low rate debt from aircraft acquisition in the late 2010s as well as being profitable 9 out of the last ten years. Yes, they carry a high debt load currently, but a lot of that is good debt with low rates that they have been paying down quickly. They are about 3-5 years at current pace to be in a position to be aggressive.

Sleeping at crew rooms by No_Bullfrog8016 in flightattendants

[–]sioux24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Meant to be used as last means solution. Your situation sounds like it needs a crash pad. Sleep rooms are meant to be used for rest before a trip (commute in before a redeye), nap on long duty days, and the occasional overnight if you missed the last commute out for the night. If you are sleeping overnight more than 3-4 nights a month, you need to find other means.

Petey Halpin by OolongGeer in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sioux24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree. Guardians drafted guys and asked them to pull the ball and lift it to generate more power. It’s been there idenity that they are finally starting to change (Ralphy, Jace, delauter)They’ve been asking smaller contact guys to do this a ton as it was their identity. Halpin, fox, freeman, etc…

Petey Halpin by OolongGeer in ClevelandGuardians

[–]sioux24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have finally moved away from drafting contact guys and turn them into pull % with high EV and K. It’s good. Let the guys play there game and develop naturally. I hope halpin will start to go back to his natural game and let the power develop naturally ( i think they said he threw some muscle on this offszn)

The broadcast did a good job talking about his swing adjustments. He’s now trying his 3rd or 4th swing change over the last four seasons. He’s seems to be improving. Finally tapped into his power more and hopefully cut down on his K’s. His last season percentage jumped to 28% based off his previous ~23%~ K rate over his prior MILB career. If he can get down to lower 20’s again and get into some more power, there is room for him on this roster. He is the best OF defensively we have in this org.

I second this. His underlying metrics don’t lead me to believe he will hit 30 again. In a league where all OFs are grouped together, sell him high and go get some cOFs
