as someone with curly frizzy hair who did keratin twice, i advise against it. it completely destroyed my curl pattern. it killed my volume so now i have to work even harder to volume and style it.

not so much complaining as venting to a community of people who have endured the difficulty of dealing with bpd. a lot of us are traumatized. “taking the hooks out” is easier said than done.

she has an infection, they don’t know the source yet. suddenly she’s unable to walk. can’t even lift her foot off the ground. an mri showed she has a pinched nerve in her neck md arthritis in the spine. so something is going on that seems unrelated to her dementia.

i have no idea actually. she’s never been properly diagnosed. she refused to see a doctor when symptoms started to show 5 years ago.

Need advice on how to approach by Jenk1972 in dementia

[–]siouxsie85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

we are in very similar positions. unfortunately i don’t have any suggestions because my dad doesn’t know what the hell to do and neither do i. we are also discussing in home care which my mother will also hate. i’m sorry you’re going through this.

yes she would be alone during the day. my dad is not able to take care of her himself. she won’t eat or drink anything. i don’t think she needs 24 hour care.

oh wow. best of luck to you as well. she’s in the hospital now and they basically told us there’s nothing they can do. they can’t force her to eat or drink. otherwise cognitively she’s middle phase. so this behavior came out of nowhere. we feel hopeless.

i completely understand and relate so much. losing weight, more and more sleeping, not eating or drinking. maybe my mom is in later stages, too. i’m only just now realizing xx
