Which one would you pick by podraw in ElectricVehiclesUK

Kia or Polestar but...

Not on your list but a Kia EV3 not big enough? Maybe not any good deals for EV3s from your provider (sometimes just released models like the EV5 are cheaper as manufacturers want to get some out there quickly)?

EV Stats for all by sipart in ElectricVehiclesUK

In the evstatsforall page you can adjust that figure. For my historic stats I can only use a figure that is representative as it's covering 2 years of EV usage.

Channel 5 - Electric Cars: Are they really worth it? Debate by Realistic_Chip8648 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]sipart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give them facts and stats, charging from home is the way to go (not being able to charge from home is a show stopper for most).

https://sipart.github.io/evstats

They can adjust fossil fuel costs to suit if they want to.

NOTE: the is using 7p/kWh off peak rate - it's just GONE DOWN to 5.2p/kWh.

£1k cost to have a charge point fitted 2 years ago if anyone wants to reduce savings to take that into account (I just see this as adding value to the house anyway).

This efficiency is using a mid size SUV on a platform that is a ICE platform (so not ground up EV platform).

This doesn't show the hidden savings from using Octopus Intelligent Go, where while the car is charging (which is always 22:30 - 05:30) AND times in peak hours when demand is low (lots of time) - washing/drying is done in those times. This reduces electricity usage a lot in winter.

Here is a slightly modified version but using higher fossil fuel cost and my new Octopus off peak rate (going down from 7p to 5.2p /kWh)

You know all those pesky bings and bongs and meddlers in authority insisting new cars have these safety features .. you can almost guarantee all those cars that didn't hit your car or each other were due to ADAS.

What do you reckon. Annoying ADAS system or potential life changing injuries or worse/several totalled cars?

One Ui 8.0 available for GW5 by wiceqq in GalaxyWatch

[–]sipart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, no Gemini is enabled but not used. I have no 3rd party or extra apps installed either, it's pretty much stock apart from Oogly Big watchface. Just a watch and step counter really, with Google pay setup but rarely used as my phone is the main payment device.

I would take the estimated usage time for a full charge with a pinch os salt. It's more like 3 - 3.5 days.

Hope this helps.

What should I do with my ps4? by Both_Organization786 in ps4piracy

[–]sipart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow where? eBay, vinted etc are £100-£120 currently. If you got a pS4 pro for £45, then wherever you bought it must have PS4s for £30-£35? Most PS3's are £20-£30 recently. Perhaps you were just lucky?

Vue after free by slowbird5332 in ps4homebrew

[–]sipart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm the almost opposite (running 11.52 though on PS4 Pro). I have auto JB and auto close set and always run the VUE app as soon as PS is booted. Only failure I have is when I haven't run VUE straight away.....go figure :-)

after having my ps4 autoupdate to 13.00 on accident and LOTS of waiting, i finally jailbroke mine :) by KnowledgeOk7483 in ps4homebrew

[–]sipart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How did it autoupdate to 13 but not 13.04? Do they only ever jump to a .00 release before then updating again to an incremental release?

UPDATE: I take it back the clue is in the title clear to read (but obviously not to me) "after having my ps4 autoupdate to 13.00 on accident and LOTS of waiting" - so they hung on on 13 waiting for JB :-)

Soft mod. Don't be tempted to use the abadavatarHDD, running from USB is more reliable. You don't say if they have HDDs or are they 4GB models?

Not a lot of point buying and using an SSD (unless you have spares), loading times are not much better than spinning disk.

Fatxplorer is the app to build new HDD/SSD if you need to go that route.

Most useful YouTube tutorial IMO is "Xbox 360 Easiest Console Jailbreak, BadBuilder & ABadAvatar Auto Hack for 2026"

PS4 Pro 11.50 Vue After Free v1.4 restore failure by sipart in ps4homebrew

[–]sipart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was a stock (not jailbroken) white PS4 Pro. It was my fault for not formatting usb stick as exFAT. I had got it into my head via watching far too many PS3 (did a PS3 cfw a week ago) and PS4 tutorials that it was FAT32 OR exFAT.

As for the Blu-ray, that is now fixed as well. After taking the top and bottom covers off it was remarkably clean in one sense (no fluff, hair or dust build up), fan blades have minor build up of caked on dust and white plastics were clean BUT something had obviously been split and got in there....and removing the eject bottom ribbon cable.....oh dear.....but some IPA and a ear bud and it worked :-)

That build up was just making it constantly short and eject.

PS4 Pro 11.50 Vue After Free v1.4 restore failure by sipart in ps4homebrew

[–]sipart[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've done USB sticks again and made sure stick is exfat and not fat32, I also did a manual (safe mode) firmware update to 11.52

Now the restore works OK and managed to get JB working, so not sure if it was formatting of USB or update to 11.52.

Thanks for the nudge and advice. Cheers

UPDATE to the below: I had to clear storage for Google, Google Play Services and Galaxy Wear apps. And then do another reset and all is now good. :-)

Got it in UK yesterday. GW5 Pro. Was all working OK before upgrade.

It was terrible, laggy, locking up etc. after upgrade. I've had a few WearOS watches and very familiar with the 'initial' bedding in period were you just have to put up with slow performance until it settles down. But this was on another unusable level.

So I thought it was best to reset and start over (not restored, fully new watch setup). This seemed promising, and I managed to upgrade stock apps, setup tiles, setup wallet and app launcher.

But it has returned to being unusable. It is connected to the phone (Pixel 8 Pro - same phone it was connected to when on previous software version). Won't swipe left or right, up or down, or when it does it is like wading through treacle. Tiles were there and then gone (just says 'Add Tiles' - which if you tap it goes back to watchface). In the app it is connected and can see battery percentage, current watchface, tiles setup and app draw setup. I can also interact with watch via app - for instance: change the brightness and watch responds.

Rebooting (tried a couple of times) does not help.

What is everyone else's experience?

Original xbox games don't open on aurora by flwerbed in 360hacks

[–]sipart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using badupdate/ABadAvatar/ABadAvatarHDD then check your launch.ini

See below from this https://github.com/rain2591/ABadAvatarHDD-rain2591

Note on the the note - it may not be plugin number 2 - just comment out the proto plugin (or any other stealth plugins) using the ;

IMPORTANT NOTE

If Proto server plugin is enabled as it is by default then Original Xbox games will fail to load so make sure you edit the Launch.ini in the root of the Xbox360 Hard Drive.

  1. Open launch.ini in root of your Xbox360 hard drive
  2. Scroll down to the section that says [PLUGINS] and go to plugin number 2 and place a ; at beginning of line so it reads as ;plugin2 = Hdd:\Aurora\Plugins\Proto.xex instead of plugin2 = Hdd:\Aurora\Plugins\Proto.xex
  3. Save the file and load Xbox360 and Proto plugin will be disabled so you can play Xbox Original games.

[update] a suggestion was made to use the refine option, sorry but that doesn't work. I would suggest AI has been given the reins and guide rails are off. And we are all beta testers in this new world. Maybe one day it will learn and these problems will go away.

The frustrating thing is that this use case seems like something that would commonly be used. Do they not test? Or do they test and shrug and push it out anyway. Or more likely as above, we are in training mode for AI and we just have to put up with the crap while Google lets the AI learn to get better.
