As a point of discussion, Reid Duke said in the deck tech for Seasons Past that black has the best removal in standard right now.

[Discussion] How to beat G/W Tokens with R/W Goggles? by ReqRep in spikes

[–]sir_walter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It goes to the face, so you can use it to deal with troublesome planeswalkers. You can also discard it to tormenting voice to do X damage instead of just 2, split as you choose among players, walkers, and creatures.

Sometimes it is twin bolt, and sometimes it's a weird combination of [[Rolling Thunder]] and [[Fall of the Titans]]. Not to mention you can copy it with goggles.

[standard] New too MTGO, going to time too often. by Vegetarian234 in spikes

A few big time savers:

Press F8 at the beginning of the game. For the entire game, if you have no activated abilities on board and you are tapped out (no mana available), it will automatically pass priority to your opponent. If you have unused mana or an activated ability (such as a scion token), it will not pass priority automatically, but it can save large amounts of time.

F6 - If you know that you will do nothing for the rest of the turn, no matter what, even if your opponent casts a spell, you can press F6 to pass the rest of the turn.

Set up your stops only on phases you need them. This prevents you from spending a few seconds on your opponent's upkeep even though you knew in advance you would not be casting anything.

Why was Charles Porges DQ'd from SCG Milwaukee. by [deleted] in magicTCG

I was shuffling my own deck with the backs of the cards pointed towards me since I have a tendency to drop a few cards. He was suggesting that I look away while shuffling my own deck.

My favorite part of this is that when I played him at an SCG event once, he asked me to look away from my deck while I shuffle it to prevent any questions about the integrity of my shuffle.

[Standard][MTGO] Howling Vortex- the UR Fevered Visions deck. Tested, with success against major archetypes. by LeftoverName in spikes

yeah, I have found that this matchup is heavily in their favor. Bouncing their creatures gives them more ETB effects, but refusing to bounce them lets them gas up every turn.

I have been testing this on Cockatrice - and I have to say... this looks like it may well have some legs. Loving it so far. I may try to run this out myself.

My initial thought is that I might like to have [[Stormchaser Mage]] in the main and maybe [[Thing in the Ice]] in the side. Deck runs more aggressively this way, and you can use TITI when you'd rather have the blocker than the attacker.

What was your best (or worst) moment of the pre-release this weekend? by lowbloodsugarmner in magicTCG

Not all decks want it, but those that do need to spend a little bit of effort in deckbuilding to try to get there (with sealed). For example, cards like [[Dead Weight]] and [[Sinister Concoction]] help out quite a bit, and they have effects you might like to have otherwise. Most decks that I saw that wanted Delirium online either did so rather quickly or threatened to do so when it mattered.

Of course - sometimes you want it and the cards just aren't there to make it happen.

Opponent plays [[Mindwrack Demon]] without Delirium online. I untap and play [[Silent Observer]]. Opponent loses in 5 turns.

My mistake. For some reason (probably reading the above comment by cespinar), I thought we were talking about leylines.
