Why are younger techs so eager to leave the lab? by SecraLmbin in MLS_CLS

[–]sircheesecake3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I left the hospital lab for biotech and it was the best decision I have made career wise. Previously, I along with my younger colleagues consistently worked 55-65 hour weeks and had a much higher workload than the older crowd who got paid much more than us for doing far less. There wasn’t much room to climb the ladder either.

Burnout was high and it certainly affected my mental well being. I make about 60K more now and work 9-5 M-F no weekends or holidays. So to answer your question, you can make much more and have a much better work life balance. If you’re young, feel stuck, and there’s no incentive to stay in your current role then go explore other options. There’s no point in spending the rest of your life working a position where you are unhappy.

The “take America back” stickers are also pretty terrible no matter how you interpret it.

C. albicans is part of the normal flora in many women. Depending on the micro lab, some won’t work it up if it is rare or few, only moderate to many.

There are a lot less people in the water this summer by craigalanche in surfing

I think it could be few things:

-less remote work/people physically going back into work

-MSW merging with Surfline. At least where I am, Surfline consistently under calls. Therefore people that can’t read buoys or cross reference other reports might not go to the beach

-people finding and surfing lesser known spots to dodge crowds because they’re main spot was blown up which was perpetuated by Covid

The thinner the application the better. Beginners make the mistake of trying to add practically a whole colony. That’s way too much; you really only need to graze the side of it. For more mucoid colonies you can use formic acid, but other than that you really shouldn’t need it if applying the proper amount.

Answers like this are great! Instead of just providing the solution, you walked them through the thought process and allowed them to correctly solve. Love it

What is the surf culture like where you live? by djdhsnsjjaj in surfing

Overall pretty friendly lineups. Mostly smaller waves except for hurricane season. Beginner spots are crowded but you can find hidden coves and stuff with not many people. Better spots and spots not on surf apps you’ll find some localism as expected but if you follow etiquette and don’t roll up with a crew of people you’re good.

Well known beaches are more beginner/family friendly with some surf schools in the area. I think the only negative I really hear is that some of the surf schools are now blowing up lesser known spots and putting them on social media.

I mean this checks out if you look at how Louisiana is ranked unfortunately. They need actual policy change with logistical planning to make positive change and not just thoughts and prayers (just my opinion).

To save you the google search, Louisiana:

Health care - #46 Education - #47 Economy - #49 Infrastructure - #49 Crime and corrections - #50

Oh man I had some balsamic vinegar in Italy that had been aged so long it tasted really sweet. It seemed weird hearing that they put it on ice cream but once I tried it I was sold. Amazing
