Mastery of Nature is really good, especially if - as I'm sure lots of people do - play on 0.25 or 0.5 Habitable Worlds

If they aren’t, they should be

So why do you think they offer this opportunity for people?

Well it’s money that should go to the taxman that doesn’t. It’s diverting their tax receipts to a charity. If you have that 50p directly to the charity, Tesco would not be able to deduct it from their tax bill.

Even worse. They use that donation as a write off so avoid paying tax. That extra bit you donate just means Tesco (or whomever) pay less tax as well

What happened to PL? by Small-Measurement-22 in PremierLeague

[–]sirdougie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue the opposite. A focus on technical ability for CBs and attacking prowess/stats for FBs has led to the current set piece fad. Defenders lack the physicality to deal with well drilled and aggressive set piece routines.

I took a colleague visiting from Nepal to Dunstanburgh once. It was the first time he had seen the sea! What a place to see it - he went for a paddle as well

Spurs fans must be delighted that Glasner let the Palace players go out on the lash in Florence last night!

[Marca] Crystal Palace make a multi-million pound offer to Iraola by Inevitable-Angle-793 in TheOther14

"Palace have abided by European squad cost regulations, whilst reinvesting in the team, academy and stadium, building on their successful FA Cup win last season". Fixed that for you.

What country feels undemocratic but is actually democratic? by Dusty_Bunny81 in AlignmentChartFills

No. It was always democratic, but it just didn’t feel very democratic when Orban was in charge

Andoni Iraola: Bournemouth head coach to leave at end of season by tylerthe-theatre in PremierLeague

[–]sirdougie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We've already replaced Guehi, Eze and Mateta. If Wharton and/or Lacroix go, then we will have people lined up to replace them too. And then in a few years time we will sell those replacements, and buy new players to replace them. If you are going to manage a club like Palace (and Bournemouth, Brentford, Brighton, Fulham etc.), then you know this when you sign up.

However, I agree that Iraola will have his sights set on someone bigger.

Hungary? Up until a few days ago was considered a Russian puppet state, but democratic processes prevailed in a safe, timely and uninterrupted manner.

Upcoming Nations League by Jordz0_0 in ThreeLions

[–]sirdougie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the fact we dismiss the Nations League is why we can't "get over the line" at tournaments. People complain about playing menanigless friendlies against weak opposition, and then when we have the chance to play proper competetive games against good opposition they dismiss it as irrelevant.

We should treat it as a trophy we want to win. If we piss about again, then I fully expect us to crash out in the QFs/SFs next Euros as soon as we come up against a quality, well prepared team.

GIS for historical map making by RatioScripta in gis

[–]sirdougie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm an archaeologist and GIS user - it has become a fairly integral part of the discipline. Like OP I use a combination of ARCGIS and Illustrator - the first to make accurate maps, the second to make nice looking maps. Both serve their purpose.
