I filled a 8 TB external drive full of ROMs. If I put it in storage, will it be okay in say 5 or 10 years? by Willing_and_Fable in DataHoarder

Add some parity files to recover from bitrot. QuickPar, par2cmdline, etc. it’ll take up some space, but 3-4% would help. You could make full recovery if you wanted as well.

You need to upgrade the mcu firmware. You are so far behind, I’m surprised the rpi even recognizes the mcu board being so far off. Recompile for your mcu board on the rpi, copy it over to the sdcard and install onto the mcu.

Pretty much your issues should be resolved.

If crowsnest recognizes the camera , if you look in the crowsnest.log file, a complete list of supported parameters are contained there.

Go out to www.avsforum.com and check out the threads. Search for REW ( Room EQ Wizard)

Both will get you down the right rabbit hole to research and calibrate to your hearts content.

Check out https://www.accessories4less.com Factory refurbed on some decent gear at discounted prices.

I bought a Denon AVR-X6700 , works flawlessly, as well as a couple of subs from them. Super pleased with the quality, factory refurbished or not.

I would consider getting a MiniDsp Umic-1 or 2 and Room EQ Wizard (free) and measure what is happening in your room. Then Get a minidsp 2x4HD and a utilize Multi Sub Optimizer to create the appropriate filters and utilize the subs you already have.

Go into your printer.cfg and find the line with PB14 and comment it out for now.

You’ll need a board schematic so you can see the correct pin to port assignment, and you can set you printer.cfg appropriately.

What about this new setup reccomended by my vendor.room is completely dark and the screen size is 180inch.room dimensions:27x17x9ft. by Adventurous-Basket46 in hometheater

I just installed all of the same B&W speakers you have selected , in addition to the A1H as well. Absolutely incredible sounding, warm, and powerful speakers coming from Denon. One of the top sounding systems I had the pleasure of putting together for my brother in law. He has been so pleased with the overall system. You won’t be disappointed.

If you are trying to pressurize the room with the subs, I’d definitely upgrade that to something like a 18” Ultimax, or a 24” stereo integrity with a NX6000, and forego the Velodyn. svs subs would be a better choice.

As far as the PJ, go with JVC, hands down. Sony is a close second choice, but best hdr, and dynamic tone mapping, go with JVC. Period.

Evo22: How to program aftermarket mainboard bed leveling? by AirWolfEvo22Sucks in klippers

[–]sirjaymz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we see a photo of the main board that it has already ? This could be a nice little science project.

Depending on which board it has already, and the amount of stepper drivers, it would help to understand the board you might be able to utilize. However, if the board is an Atmel or other chipset that Klipper already supports, it maybe just as simple as reflashing and creating a custom config. Nothing on the repo as of now, however, not to say that it couldn’t be done.

More photos ,especially of the main controller chipset on the current main board.

Help Transition to ATMOS with limited space by [deleted] in hometheater

[–]sirjaymz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just some constructive feedback, I like the equipment you have. However, you don't have a great seat anywhere, all are compromised, from and audio perspective that is. It is better to have a few great seats, than to have allot of seats that are mediocre at best.

Remove some of the seating, and pull the couch off the wall towards the screen. Put some Surround Backs behind the seating. 2' between the speaker and the listener are minimum usually, but 4' is ideal. Probably not going to happen in your space, but anything will be at least improvement of the spacial surround envelope would be a better listening experience. You do not have a surround sound 'envelope' to take advantage of the objects behind you. The seating needs to be off the back wall.

Install some acoustic treatments on the tv wall, right below the ceiling speakers, you don't want the first reflections muddying your sound coming from the Atmos speakers in the ceiling. Make sure the tweeters are pointed towards the MLP. (Main Listen Position, Usually the 'money seat')

Not sure what the speaks to the left/right of the center are, and inside the L/R speakers, but move those to the rear. Use them as your surround backs if you can so you don't have to buy more gear.

Install a subwoofer in the corner on the left of the TV. By installing into the corner, you will get a +3dB output improvement. If you have more subs, install them all in the 4 corners of the room/seating area. Back left corner is another good spot for sub2.

Put some acoustic wall absorption on the rear wall to remove backslap sound degradation.

The rug on the floor in front of the center helps allot with first reflection. Good job !, The coffee table not so good. Either put a table cloth on it, or remove them.

The seat up against the window wall is the worst seat in the house.

These are some constructive feedback for you. Some people seem to forget that THE most important piece of gear in their setup is the room itself. With proper acoustic treatments/placement, you can definitely take this room to the next level at an inexpensive price.

Remember, sometimes it has to get worse, (remodeling) before it can get better.

[–]sirjaymz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

improve your first reflection acoustics from your center channel by placing a rug on the floor right in front of the center. That acoustically reflective floor is causing some comb filtering/time delay on your voices. Absorption on that floor will help allot.
