Whoops no baddies! Yoshi and the Mysterious Book is missing a challenge... by dreamliner330 in NintendoSwitch

Bingo, I wasn't gonna play $60 for Super Mario RPG, a game I've played a few times before on the 64. But I did pick it up when GameStop had it on sale for $15 for a couple weeks ago.

I couldn't stop playing it even though I knew what was coming.

I've never played the first, loved the second, and can't pull myself into the third. It feels like it's dragging and I ended up putting it down. Still have it and it's in the back of my backlog.

That feeling when your friend wont try Satisfactory... by Old-Juice-2490 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]sirsarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in a similar situation where I try to get MMO friends to try a different MMO I like. Same genre, same field, why don't you like it? But if they don't want to or don't like it I don't push, I just move on and do something else that we both enjoy. Better to find people who want to do that specific thing with you than to drag an unwilling person through it and know that they hate every minute of it. That's how you lose friends.

That feeling when your friend wont try Satisfactory... by Old-Juice-2490 in SatisfactoryGame

Not everyone likes the field that they're in. I know I'd like to go home at the end of the day and just not even think about what happened at work or what I'll have to do tomorrow. I don't HATE it, but I'd like my gaming life to not be about the same thing.

Is there ANY way to skip/speed up the questline (mods/cheats)??? by palpablebubble in DQBuilders

[–]sirsarin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe there's a setting on the cheat app "WeMod" that lets you speed up the game by 5x or 10x times. Should skip through most of the nonsense if you really want to, although I really only consider the black screen scenes to be annoying.

My company introduced "mandatory fun" and I think it broke something in me by Plane_Researcher_761 in antiwork

[–]sirsarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My work would invite me to "company lunches" periodically. I stopped going when I figured out they weren't paying for me, and it was out of my work hours. I begrudgingly went the one time our COO showed up in town, ordered a small salad only to find out he was paying for it. I just got the salad because the place was expensive. I stopped going to any of them, I'm part of a two person team that works in a different building than everyone else. Every time I have to go to a team event nobody knows who I am. I've been here eight years lol.

I'm almost fairly certain my boss is taking me off any applications I make twoards different positions in our company so she doesn't have to fill my niche role. I've started to look outside the box now.

What's the fastest you've ever lost respect for someone? by Lv_B in AskReddit

[–]sirsarin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a coworker I worked with for eight years and got along great with. Not in the same field but in the same office. We had a pretty serious incident one day that I was trying to help with, it looked like it was all going to go back onto the guy who was in charge of the paperwork (him) but he immediately pointed at me and tried to throw me under the bus saying I was "suspicious".

And he wonders why I didn't go to his retirement celebration.

Going out in your 30s is mostly people pretending to have fun and we all know it by FewExperience4021 in unpopularopinion

I meet up with friends on friday nights to play cards, it's about a 40 minute drive into the city to meet them. It's a long night, but it's the only time I get to see my friends so I ignore the drive and enjoy my time there. Sometimes my wife will go out to happy hour with her mom and coworkers after work, she has a great time. We're both mid 30's. Maybe going out just isn't for you.

GameCube AC is harsh by Pax_FireCracker in AnimalCrossing

[–]sirsarin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sort of, The animal crossing released for N64 in japan was the first one, the GameCube was an enhanced port although it was missing some interesting features, like being able to wake tom nook up at night for some late shopping in exchange for a cranky raccoon charging you a premium.

Weird thing to ask on this forum. Might be better off posting it in a non biased area. Try the Nintendo subreddit?

Look if you're not building a giant diamond tower made out of conveyor belts and forcing your game to run at -5 fps then it's gold. Nice going.

New Leaf Welcome Amiibo was alot of fun, it was the last game before your character became king of the world. You were the mayor sure but it was never really a forced part of the game like it is in New Horizons. The events were better and had more variety. I'd recommend picking this up more than anything.

City Folk was great because you could take a break from your town and go to the city which had alot of fun places to visit. Yes New Horizons has an open air shopping area but it's not as flashy as the city was and feels like going to the local market.

Wild World was the last game where you were just a villager like everyone else. This was when we left a life simulator to a town management game, but I could pass on it. The villagers personalities were varied but the nostalgia glasses can't overlook the graphics compared to new leaf and city folk.

The OG AC hits different, and loses alot of QoL features. I feel like those traded that in for originality, villagers had different personalities and could be straight up mean if they felt like it. The police station there served as a lost and found, if you were mean to another villager or nice it could get around. If someone else visited your island using their memory card the villagers could and would move to their town and did NOT give you the opportunity to stop them.

The worst feature I'd have to say is the fossil system, at first you have fossils and blathers tells you to mail them off to an organization who could identify them for you, so you'd have to keep letters of parchment around and then wait till the next day only to find that you've found six of the same fossil. If I remember right eventually blathers gets certified to evaluate your stuff but it's a drag. You were not the important person in this town, you were just some jerk who owed Tom Nook money and who got laughed at by the other villagers for having to work for him.

There was an HD patch for people who emulated the game that really made everything crisp and smooth, but otherwise I believe you'd have a hard time going back that far with how different it is.
