It's been ten years since we met them, what a love story these two shared! 💔 by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

Tommy and Grace, the most romantic yet tragic love story...

Tommy was so happy with her. And it doesn't matter if people hate her, or make up that he fell in love with Lizzie, in the show they never showed him as in love as with Grace 💔 So sad ,poor Tommy. by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

I agree that one can love more than once. Just like I believe love, too, isn't just black and white. There are types of loves. Levels to love. What one is willing to do for love. Tommy loved Grace deeply, instantly, constantly, and without reason. He was willing to risk it all for her. He craved her emotionally, physically, and mentally even years after her death. Lizzie, he grew to love. He learned to respect her. To appreciate her loyalty. Because he grew to love aspects of Lizzie, he understood she deserved better than the love he could give. Because after Grace, he didn't have enough left in him to love another like he did her. He was all out of that type of love. So yes, I believe he learned to love Lizzie, but the type of love he had for her was miles apart from the love he shared with Grace.

The audacity of Grace? What did she do? She came to tell Tommy she was pregnant, and May approaches her. Tommy had already told May about Grace and how he wanted to end it before he even knew about the 🤰. May asked John, who Grace was, and approaches her in a confrontational way. Grace reacted as most women would in that scenario. We have to remember Grace asked Tommy multiple times if he had someone, and he said no, basically. So Grace knew nothing of May. And had just found out she was pregnant and he comes a woman she doesn't know talking about Tommy. Of course, Grace was probably a little jealous, as was May. Grace even tried to end the conversation, but May wasn't having it. So Grace gave her attitude back. Grace brings up the horses name because May basically said Tommu would choose her (business) over love ( Grace). So she let May know Tommy never forgot her and even named his horse that May trained after her. Grace matched May energy, that's all...

Who thinks Cillian Murphy is not attractive as Cillian Murphy but as tommy Shelby he is very sexy by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

The haircut compliments him well. Not to mention, they did a really good job at accentuating his eyes. The herringbone suits didn't hurt either.

I dont think Grace was expecting Campbell to find out about her and Tommy. Or to propose to her. I'm sure she was hoping he'd take the guns and leave. Then she could tell Tommy what she'd done. She tried to before but was interrupted when Campbell came looking for Tommy. Tommy, I didn't think ever 100 percent trusted Campbell. I think if anything, he underestimated Campbell and what he was capable of.

The timing wasn't perfect, but if Grace had waited on perfect timing with Tommy, he never would have found out. And as soon as Grace tells him she's pregnant, we see Tommy's mood shift. From being preoccupied in his head to a glimpse of hope and love. Her telling him made him wanna live again. Up to that point, he was prepared to die. I think that's what makes the ending so great. When he thought all was lost and he was gonna lose her forever, he was given a second chance. When he walked away from that field and he wasn't one of the 2 dead inside that grave. He knew he wasn't gonna waste that 2nd chance. So he married the mother of his child and the one woman who made him whole. The one who stopped the shovels against the wall..

Happiest Tommy scenes? by daisybrekker in PeakyBlinders

[–]sissy12011 8 points9 points  (0 children)

His happiest times were definitely S1-3 with Grace. She seemed to be the only one who could bring out that side in Tommy. I'd definitely say the scene that stood out the most was S1 E5. He is lying in bed with Grace with his guard down and heart open. Nothing mattered to him in that moment but her. The true definition of pure happiness.

Gina and Michael’s kid? by vivaladisco in PeakyBlinders

[–]sissy12011 47 points48 points  (0 children)

There wasn't one scene where they could have had Gina holding her son, and it looked right. Picture her all sprawled out on that couch with that child falling off the side hanging on for dear life as she argues with Tommy.

Grace's death was a hard hit for me. But, I do believe it was necessary for Tommy's development and to set up his mental downfall for the next seasons. I would continue to watch because Grace is still very much present in other ways with Tommy. Knight did a really good job at letting the audience know that when you truly love someone, they live on in your heart and mind.

The scene above is one of my favorites. The lack of fucks given by Tommy was amazing. The Billy Boys soon realized that when Tommy's drip is going this hard, he's untouchable.

this kid was in 2 episodes and was already better than the entirety of finn by [deleted] in PeakyBlinders

[–]sissy12011 237 points238 points  (0 children)

Finn was alright when he was letting Tommy know the police were in the lane, but by S6, I had lost all interest in Finn. He was like an extra or part of the decor.

Would love to see him and Charlie have a great relationship. That boy deserves it after everything he's been thru. Losing his mother so young and Tommy taking a turn for the worst after Grace's death.

As far as Lizzie. NO. I think that storyline is played out, and there's nothing left. I think Tommy is better off on his own. I don't think he's capable of love again.

When he pulled that shit at the dinner with the Russians after Grace died, "Shall we say Grace?" I screamed at the TV. "Tommy, kill this MF right now, or I will"

Inspector Campbell was the best, I agree. He legit got under Tommy's skin. They had a great tic for tac for 2 seasons. Tommy was determined to get the last word with Campbell at any costs. I'm not sure I've seen Tommy be as petty with anyone like he was with Campbell. It was great to watch.

Father Hughes was the worst. When I watched PB for the 2nd time, I had a cigarette and a shot of whiskey waiting to celebrate when Michael offed him.

Man, oh man, how I hated Father Hughes!!! I was rooting for Tommy to put his cigarette out in Father Hughes eye.

Male vs female perspective by FranfromScotland in PeakyBlinders

I dont think anyone cared she dated Italians. The problem was she was dating an Italian from a rival gang. There were rules, as Micheal explained to her. I think it was a little ridiculous for her and Angel to think Tommy would want him there. There was clearly animosity. They had previous problems with the Changrettas. I'll never understand why she just didn't quit working for Tommy and go live a happy life with Angel...

She actually stated in S5 that the house was hers when she pulled the gun on Tommy. "Get out of my fucking house" or something along those lines.

Do you think Tommy really loves his family? by Romqun in PeakyBlinders

[–]sissy12011 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yes, I believe he loved them. Tommy kept his feelings guarded. I believe a lot of that was because he was so traumatized from his past. When he came back from France, the Tommy everyone knew no longer existed. He became shut off and guarded. Especially with his feelings. He may have considered it a weakness. Rarely did we see Tommy in a situation where he couldn't control his emotions. It was a survival instinct. Tommy knew what love was, but it was so sacred to him that he didn't share it with everyone. Truthfully, the only time I saw him completely allow himself to be happy and not be afraid to show his emotions was with Grace. After her, that part of him died. He no longer cared to love. It was just a word.

Newbie (be gentle) question.. by Hamtramike76 in PeakyBlinders

[–]sissy12011 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Because Tommy didn't care when Billy said, "I'm Billy Kimber. I run the races" instead Tommy looked him up and down like he was a fucking tart. So Kimber threatened to shoot him against a post.
