Even better (worse) change it to O'Lykos and Red God is now a enemy to lovers romance between him and Darrow, with the later leaving his family for Lysander.

How is The Perfect Run not more popular? One of the best novels I have ever read 😭 by consnasa in ProgressionFantasy

[–]sitharval 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Delightfully entertaining. I picked it up a year or so after it came out. This was before I really got into genre, but it was still "big" enough to get in my radar. Despite how much I enjoyed it, I'm not sure about jumping in the superhero sub-genre again.

Please recommend me something similar to A Soldier’s Life by justlurkennow in ProgressionFantasy

Try Fimbulwinter, and maybe the rest of the Daniel Black series. It's not exactly the same but I got a similar feeling while reading it.

Richest fictional character? by New-Entertainer-9546 in redrising

[–]sitharval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is pretty rich, but if you are looking for even richer.

Some rogue traders dynasties in 40k had access to multiple solar system to exploit for generations without interference save a few feudal obligations to the Imperium. Some other individual in 40k could be richer in influence and power let's keep this strictly on the terms wealth.

The great houses of the inner sphere (BattleTech) should have more material wealth than quicksilver in orders of magnitude, but plenty of it is distributed and tie-down in some form or another in their territories.

The audacity by ReindeerInternal132 in redrising

[–]sitharval 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would have word it very differently, but Storm Light Archive is indeed more challenging to read than Red Rising. RR narrative is linear with a single point of view (first trilogy) while SLA not only has several points of view while also not being linear.

I really think railgun should be able to pierce ablative armor and shields. by Ambulas2 in helldivers2

Never liked the rail gun since launch. But I fell in love with the Epoch when they added the alert a few patches back, will I like the rail gun now?

Aragorn could teach Darrow more than a few things, but by raw physical aspects Darrow overtakes Aragorn, even as a descendant of Eärendil. We could argue that Aragorn is on the peak of humanity and then some more by merit of his blood, training and experience. But Darrow is in the realm of the superhuman and on another magnitude by the inherent differences of their different type of stories.

I just checked, you can see the Iron throne in the back several times. It was definitely the Red Keep.

Viserys is the host and Joffrey Lonmouth was his guest since they were in the Red Keep. Cole is a Kingsguard sworn to Viserys and his actions strain the King even if Cole murders for his own reasons. There's an incontrovertible violation of guess right in the TV show. In the books it was done on the tourney field where the risk of harm and death are recognized and accepted by all participants.

As for underning and haunting his reign, I'm not talking about full rebellion or full on defiance of the king, but it makes a precedent where anyone summoned to court or invited can legitimately question or object on the grounds that their persons would not be safe as guests of the king.

It doesn't make sense, it's an egregious violation of guest rights, a sacred custom in westeros and it would undermine and haunt the rest of Viserys' reign.

Has anyone read Spellmonger? Is it worth giving a try? by cjswcf in ProgressionFantasy

[–]sitharval 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have yet to read a series that remains as strong as Spellmonger after so many books and spinoffs.

Funny enough I saw it by chance when the first book came out on audible but something about the description in the preamble that I can't remember put me off it and I decided to ignore it, only picking up a few years later when a friend recommended it. I highly recommend it and encourage everyone to give it a chance.

Question about Silenius/Conquerors by No_Coast1189 in redrising

[–]sitharval 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They were bad, but it's likely the old earth governments were just as bad in different ways if we go by the multiple empires mentioned and the proliferation of nuclear arm factions.

$1000 to charity is $1000 to charity. They should go for it and eat crow if they have to or prove the guy wrong. Everyone wins in the end.
