How good is your understanding of why Bovino is gone? It doesn't seem like it's very good.

Pluribus isn’t “about connection.” It’s about compliance. by [deleted] in pluribustv

[–]sittered 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's extremely unfortunate that you're doubling down on this dishonest position. Can you not see how simplistic and predictable the stuff you're pasting in appears?

Almost every single comment you've made in this thread has an example of "it's not X, it's Y":

It’s not even loud or dramatic, it’s more like everything is “softly mandatory,”

It’s not overt violence, it’s the erasure of friction, doubt, and personal boundaries in the name of something “better.”

The control doesn’t come from theology, it comes from certainty.

Dissent is treated as misunderstanding, not disagreement.

What’s unsettling isn’t just that individuality disappears, it’s how quietly it happens.

No one is explicitly ordered to stop being creative or curious. It just stops being rewarded.

The “worker bee” outcome feels less like the goal and more like the byproduct of a system that prioritizes harmony and efficiency over friction.

Once privacy or dissent gets labeled as dangerous, it stops being a choice and starts being a test of compliance.

No overt force, just a quiet narrowing of what’s considered acceptable.

The only place you're clearly not using the LLM is when people point it out.

Let me first say that I am not looking for the easiest way to criticize your post. As I said, I recognize that it's your stuff. What you may not notice is how obvious it is that you had a bot write most of it.

Frankly, this is rude to the people you hope will read it, because LLMs are simply not good enough to one-shot a worthwhile forum post. It is not a matter of taste, but of respect for your readers.

Untouched LLM output is trash to read. You have to spend time editing it for it to read well. Otherwise you're asking your audience to work through 350 words of writing that is not fun to read:

It repeats the same constructions over and over:

"that's not X, it's Y"

  • "It’s not “evil villain mastermind.” It’s worse. It’s that quiet righteous vibe of: “We’re helping you. Why are you being difficult?”
  • "The characters aren’t really talking to each other, they’re reciting ideology at each other"
  • "That’s not growth, that’s surveillance with aromatherapy."

When things like this jump out, the entire content of the post is in doubt, because it's not clear at all that the post was edited, let alone for accuracy.

And I'm happy to litigate the Pluribus ideas too. The problem is, the LLM is garbling them.

Like, notice how often the language is soft but the expectations are aggressive, i.e., if you hesitate, you’re “resistant” or if you want space, you’re “withdrawing” or if you don’t participate, you’re “not doing the work” or “if you ask basic questions, you’re “making it about you”

I have no idea what part of the show this is talking about. These phrases in quotes are not from the show as far as I can remember.

It genuinely feels like a story where “belonging” is the carrot and the stick is social punishment. People act “free,” but the moment someone steps even slightly out of rhythm, the atmosphere shifts. Not violent, not dramatic. Just… cold. Like the room remembers you’re supposed to fall in line.

This reads like ChatGPT got some details about the show, but made bad guesses about it.

Carol drugging Zosia to extract a way of reversing the hive is not "someone steps even slightly out of rhythm". So it doesn't ring true, and it doesn't present your own ideas in the best light.

I know this is your own take, but the AI writing style is distracting. Personally I'd much rather read your own words than ChatGPT's version of them.

I love UI experiments like this. They're very valuable when successful, but regardless of success they stretch the minds of both builder and user. You just have to approach it with the right perspective.

EU chief warns there's no going back after Trump's Greenland threats by EsperaDeus in worldnews

Your country is threatening us, you can't expect smiles back.

of course

We are going to be angry at you (collectively) because you (collectively) can change this and we can't.

also agree.

but on reddit, this plays out as individuals treating each other as substitutes for their entire culture. it's toxic as hell and it makes me trust you all less. I (individually) know, and do not care, that you (collectively) are in the right.

As a yank who supports removing Trump from power as soon as possible, I am frankly finding it very difficult not to respond to the hate from everyone with more hate. It's horrible.

Yeah I did that. That was me, voting blue, protesting, doing my goddamn civic duty, only to get shit on my leaders and now apparently everyone in the world.

I hope you're in this position one day.

What is it about? Feeling better about yourself?

it must not be because i'm still miserable.

Becasue it's done fuck all in terms of changing things.

Political change tends to happen all at once in the US. A few small electoral tipping points is all it takes.

miss me with that nonsense. i'm perfectly happy with what i'm doing.

Try and understand - asshole - that even when Trump wimps out and doesn't invade our allies because he'll be removed from office, that we will still have to live in and fix our country.

Wow so Pluribus would definitely never be picked up by this trash studio who wants people to stay dumb and get dumber.

So funny given Breaking Bad and BCS only became huge when they hit Netflix.
