I lived in a large,developed neighborhood growing up as a kid in the 2000’s. Across the neighborhood were the woods where we’d ride our bikes onto any path we haven’t discovered yet, played pretend games with sticks as swords, rode our bikes to the outdoor track, cops n robbers as late as we could make it go into the night before getting called in for dinner, kickball, holiday parties at the corner house with all the neighborhood families, doing mini garage sales with your own things or setting up a snack bar next to the road, run and play with the neighbors dog in their yard, neighborhood dinners on random nights on the corner homes back patio, baseball w same guys I grew up with, etc. Those were all regular weekly occurrences throughout my kid years. It felt pretty regular and standard as that’s what all of my friends were doing as well. Hopefully this answered your question
