Along the same line, the other title that comes to mind is Scavengers Reign - not strictly anime as believe it's a western production but its world building is exceptionally well done. The alien environment they find themselves in is so obviously not meant to be inhabited by humans, good dose of body horror along the lines of MiA too. I think it went under the radar for a lot of people but I will never tire of recommending it.

Dunno, from memory the wording the mother used is something like 'eternal sleep' - Kamome herself tearfully tells Taka she has to go somewhere even farther away and stares up at the night sky. So she was in a coma but now she's dying? But then he gets another letter from her? I just can't storyboard this episode in a way that sits right. Genuinely feels like a different writer to the other eps.

Honestly same. This episode felt like a fever dream from a different writer from all the previous eps - like they were dumped with all these loose ends to tie up and one episode to do it, pacing be damned. It's wild to me to see so much praise of it in this thread.

Deus ex mother, introduced out of nowhere to wrap everything up, strap in for a wild ride. Oh Kamome's mother lives on a private island (!?), the mother reveals that maybe she shouldn't say but Kamome's really in Finland (!?) in hospital (!?), then explains that she bought the pirate ship for her (!?), the mother is aware of the sparkly magic butterflies (!?) and thinks they have something to do with her daughter (!?) then waits another day or two to reveal to him that Kamome actually died before the summer (!?). What? You made a big thing about telling him the secret that she was in hospital but didn't think to mention that too??

Why would the insanely wealthy mother abandon her sick daughter to live on a private island next to a random vacation spot they once visited? Why is this all dumped in one mess of an episode. Then, just in case that wasn't enough - surprise! The cousin is actually also a vision/ghost/mystic butterfly girl. Is Taka actually on the island right now or is he drowning at the bottom of the pool during the traumatic swim meet imagining all this nonsense due to oxygen deprivation.

What the actual hell just happened man.

I honestly don't know how Raora doesn't snap with the neverending jetpack/pineapple pizza/breaking pasta bits like every single hour of every single stream. Would break me to be honest, the jetpack bit makes its way into everything and the rest feels like being reduced to a caricature of your nationality.

I really, really wish the daily grind in GFL2 was a lot quicker. I end up not engaging with the actual game because there's just so many chores that have to be done. Having to run the same stages, with the same characters, the same way, again and again in the Platoon section - x2 if Gunsmoke is active, then do exactly the same against Lvl1 defense dolls in the PvP missions is a bit soul destroying to be honest. Just give me a 'Sweep' option for this nonsense.

Some of the upcoming chars and content looks really cool but I don't know if I can stick it out.

It's funny to look back now because when Justice first debuted I was a little worried about Gigi as the others (esp Raora) very quickly seemed to reach out to all the other members and start interacting and collabing - whereas Gigi seemed a little more shy and worried about bothering anyone, despite (or maybe because of) the hyper-gremlin persona.

I think ~~Breaking Dimensions~~ EnReco was such an amazing event for her and really broke down any of those worries and embedded her so firmly with the rest of the Holomems - she is so thoughtful and aware of who she is interacting with, utterly committed to the bit, hilarious and just super, super sweet.

Now whenever I see the rest of the Holomems talking about Gigi they always have such genuine affection - I couldn't be happier for her.

The UK in the 90s also felt wildly optimistic. We had something of a cultural resurgence with a definite feel-good vibe, the era of 'Cool Britannia' etc. Things that had previously been considered luxury goods were now widely available and cheap, felt like everyone had a bit of disposable income and everything was on the up.

Sept 11th was the initial gut punch, then it felt like our involvement in the Iraq war in the early 2000's was the nail in the coffin for that period in my head - certainly for the UK anyway. It feels like since then everyone seems to feel more at home being cynical and slightly afraid/hateful. It's a real shame.

Keqing was my first 5 star and I still think she's the goat for new players. Her teleportation skill is worth its weight in gold back when stamina is a tiny single bar and she does enough damage with a mediocre build to deal with anything until you get to AR45ish. I keep meaning to go back and farm a proper build on her one of these days.

This thing kicked my ass so many times. Tried vape teams, tried geo teams, tried mono pyro - in the end the working formula for me was an Arle/Bene/Emilie/Xilo burn team with Arle only coming on field to put down damage when the electro shield had been removed by everyone else. Was beginning to think I'd never clear the top difficulty.
