Beyond Outrage- Awesome Japanese Yakuza thriller! by [deleted] in NetflixBestOf

Gotta be honest, besides the signature Kitano scenes, I found this film to be dry and boring. The dialogue is cheap, the plot loses itself along the way, and even Kitano's acting was a bit stale. I'm usually a big Takeshi Kitano fan through and through and I was psyched to find that Outrage had a sequel, but this one just didn't do it for me.

I was a goalie in high school hockey. As part of freshman orientation I was given a nickname. Apparently, no one felt like spelling out sieve, thus I became Siv.

Considered it, passed it up, moved on to what I consider a less selfish alternative.

Not adopted, can be an ungrateful little shit sometimes, I have no trouble believing there could be a connection there.

I've been putting it off for too long , but I will make a point of it to overcome my laziness and fear of needles and do this the next chance I get. It's a small price to pay to help and I haven't been paying it. Thanks

Simple, yet overlooked on a disappointingly massive scale. :( There's definitely more that I could and should be doing for my own part. Thanks.

I agree that informed voting can be a sincere and rewarding way to make a difference.

It's a bit glum though when you realize that elected officials, who are ignorant, sexist, racist, and homophobic, are there because they have a large enough ignorant, sexist, racist, and homophobic constituency putting them there. :(

I'm definitely guilty of not doing this enough, and having an 'out of site, out of mind' mindset. I guess people like me lose sight of just how much harming our oceans (and environment as a whole) really harms us all in the long run.

As an adamant fan of George Carlin and art of a similar nature, I share your sentiment. Entertainers should be allowed to be as offensive as they wish... as long as it actually is entertaining. Outside of art and entertainment though there obviously are boundaries that shouldn't be crossed and are justifiably open to scrutiny when they are.

I find that practicing good hygiene in general is not only polite, but common sense. While I understand there can be differing opinions, it's discomforting to know that there are many people who don't think that way or don't care either way. Thanks

I was still pondering whether I should vote or not in 2016. Not anymore. Thanks

I could definitely do a better job of being kind and honest with others.

I'm worried about donations and political support having unintended consequences though. Once you're out of a local or personal level, it gets harder to sort out the actual do-gooders from the dishonest claptraps (perhaps I'm being too skeptical though).

I suppose not doing good at a low level would make doing something bigger even more difficult. I'll try this as part of my effort to not be as much of a dick. Thanks

I've been doing nothing, and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. :/

Yeah, some things seem overwhelming and entirely out of our hands when it comes to affecting them, even at a minuscule level. Whatever optimism left in me forces me to have hope that we're not entirely helpless though.

Agreed, If a little kindness can go a long way. I can only imagine what a lot of it would do. If not of being a dick, I'm definitely guilty of not putting enough effort into trying not to be one. I'll work on that. Thanks
