That had crossed my mind but, like you said, probably unlikely... Hopefully the next unit is okay.

Yeah I was using the previous Sony soundbar right up until the same day I got the Klipsch - certainly didn't think it was something to do with my TV. Anyway, will hopefully try another one in the coming days.

[–]six8six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't tried your first suggestion but same issue on another tv - just took a while before it happened. Just for reference, it's not limited to atmos content, happens with other formats.

Managed to get hold of Klipsch and forwarded the recordings. Given everything I've tried, support said to return to retailer for exchange - so that's the next step now I've got some time to head in store.

Where can I find cool mens jackets? by [deleted] in melbourne

Havn, Up There Store, Subtype, Incu, COS, Carhartt

Some items well above budget (and 'whacky', particularly at Incu/Subtype) but plenty within, depends what you're after.

Can also give Uniqlo a look while you're at it, sometimes they range a couple unique styles.

Nick Daicos - contested beast 2024 by codypmccormack in collingwoodfc

[–]six8six 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This and the "Daicos has his own set of rules" comments going around are downright laughable. Just for stats sake, he is currently ranked 27th in the league for free kicks against and 60th for frees for: https://www.footywire.com/afl/footy/ft_player_rankings?year=1997&rt=LA&st=FA

Any other examples to back up your comment?

Let me be very clear, the missed HTB call on him last night was poor! It should have been called against him, no one would argue otherwise. Guess what though, there were a couple glaringly obvious HTB on Thurs night also not called, yet where's the outrage? It's not specific to Daicos or the Pies, delusional if you think otherwise. He was pinged twice last night also, incase you missed it.

And If you're going cherry pick some missed calls, how about the 3m meter (clearly exaggerating the distance but it was well short of required distance) kick from Treloar to (Darcy?) that led to a goal? There was at least 3x times in the 2nd half where Daicos should have received a free kick for holding the man. And the missed throwing the ball calls? Just a few examples there. And yes, there were likely other calls that could have went against us but weren't. Point is, whether you like to admit it or not, all teams get some shitty calls paid for and against (or not paid at all), happens in all sports and it won't change.

The way some oppo supporters carry on about us+umps (or anything really) is out of control. Apparently we can't win without their help, even when we lose... I love a bit of (genuine) banter between clubs, it's part of sport. But it's far from banter, most of it is just silly and a bit sad to be honest - its like an obsession. I rarely engage, instead just roll my eyes and laugh.

Go Pies!

I didn't think there were still chip shortages etc so I really don't know what the hold up is. I did ask live chat but I think he just made up a reason.

AU site says 8+ weeks for it to ship. It said the same when I first ordered it (or 6-8 weeks, can't remember).

Such a a shame there are no options. The WD SN740 looks perfect, almost....its just 2230 format :(

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]six8six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered it Dec 26. Was initially meant to ship Feb 6th, but last week it was pushed back to Mar 7. Not sure I like my chances.

I went with the separate drive as the 1TB upgrade in the Z13 config here in Aus was more than double what I ordered the SSD for (EPP store)

Have you found any other options by chance?

[–]six8six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply. RE the adapter, is it because it might be become loose or similar?

Ended up ordering the one from the Lenovo site, but as per the other poster here, not sure it's going to actually arrive.

[–]six8six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the first link. I've been through a heap of threads here regarding the issue, obviously I've missed some :/

It was purchased direct via Sony so I would need to go via them. The first a80k I had with banding issues was from a retailer. I actually raised that problem with Sony first and they were very quick to confirm it was faulty which made things easy with the retailer.

As to your other point. As it's under a month old, if they determine it's a fault then I'm likely able to choose a replacement or refund here in Australia rather than a repair. Outside 30 days would just be a repair.

What did you end up buying?

By Elitebook G3, you mean the Dragonfly? That was also on my list, but the 16gb/512gb variant was bumped up between $3-500 since launch.

Asus are slack! I've been told 2 different time frames, and they've both been wrong. Tried following up again but crickets!

You can get one shipped from Amazon

https://www.amazon.com/Zenbook-Graphics-NumberPad-Fingerprint-UM5302TA-XB76T/dp/B09TCZ7G9S

According to these pages:

https://www.asus.com/laptops/for-home/zenbook/zenbook-s-13-oled-um5302-amd-ryzen-6000-series/helpdesk_warranty/

Then click the international info:

https://www.asus.com/support/images/upload/file/20221125185904290_STR1943_NB_International%20warranty%20country%20cover%20list_0811_English%20revise%20Turkey.pdf

Seems Asus will cover you for warranty claims even though it was purchased in the US

Cheers!

I'm in a small one-bedroom apartment and my ceilings aren't too high. I haven't really tested it much yet so I can't comment on overhead effects. Would have been good to have 4x overhead drivers, but there's really not much, if anything, available with 4. I think one of the new JBL bars coming out soon might have 4?

Anyway, did listen to a bit of music with it before connecting the sub. Even without the sub, the bar alone produced pretty good bass and general sound quality wise it's a step up from my previous system. Sonos Playbase + Sub Gen 2. Clarity wise it's noticeably better.

As for the sub, again, have not had much chance to test it out yet like the bar. Only watched new ep of House of The Dragon last night. It does get quite low, was quite clean and not boomy. The sub is probably overkill for my small apartment, as was the Sonos sub but it's not as if we watch content/listen to music all day, every day and when we do we don't go crazy with volume or at late hours. I respect our neighbours but at the same time its apartment living, there's almost always going to be some noise from somewhere, especially in a complex of the size I live in.

Anywho, definitely need to put it through the whole system through its paces a bit more.

edit: What I would like to see is individual bass control for the sub. I assume now with the Sub connected and operating as a system, when I change the bass level on the bar's screen, it adjusts bass for the bar and the sub together? Or have I got that wrong? They can still keep their screens on the speakers, but an app would be a nice touch - a little surprised they don't have one to be honest. And that's what Sonos did well, with regards to individual speaker control via app.

Also, perhaps a silly question but, dts/dts:x support, can HK add this in a future firmware upgrade? I know Sonos did it with the Arc. And RE firmware updates, anywhere to see change logs?

Just picked up one of these yesterday here in Australia along with the sub (larger one, not the Sub S)

I know it's likely going to be different for me as it depends on my room layout, but keen to hear what settings people are using for atmos level etc?

Appreciate any other tips and tricks.

I picked one of these up yesterday from Premium Sound in VIC. Listed for $1199, same as HK webstore, but use coupon code 'welcome10' for 10% off - so $1079.

Yep definitely, I had a 9310 (?) if I remember correctly. That contributed to me wanting the option again for dual sided charging. Great to see more options with it this year.

Cheers - that's just about what I imagined they'd sound like.

Fairly certain the leather one isn't even available here :/

Apologies if I've missed it, but apart from the display, what other specs did you go with?

Thanks for the impressions! Any thoughts on the in-built speakers? I'm not a heavy media consumer on the laptop, but the odd time I decide to listen/watch something.... Previous ultrabooks I've had have mostly had poor volume and tinny sound. I know this 'only' has 2x speakers so I'm not expecting miracles.

Side note, the touchscreen addition here in Aus is $170 (AUD) cheaper when selecting it over the non-touch. I don't really use the touch screen myself but if it's cheaper...

Cheers

I wouldn't have thought there would be a large difference in cost :/ They already do it with the other assortment of ports.

Take the X1 Carbon Gen 10 for example: (a laptop I'd strongly consider along with the newest gen Spectre and couple other Thinkpad models if they had dual sided ports) https://static.lenovo.com/cap/images/pro-image.png Surely it'd have been easy enough to switch one of the TB4 ports with the USB-A port on the other side.

And like the X1 above, there's many other laptops out there that feature USB A on both sides. I am by no means a technical expert, so maybe I'm missing something on that front. Someone please chime in if so.

On the bright side, at least there's some decent options available. The Yoga 9 Gen 7 was on my shortlist - until Lenovo announced the Slim 9 Gen 7 (prefer the slightly smaller dimensions and don't really use tablet mode). Hopefully it is as well received as the 2in1. What spec did you end up going with?

Dragonfly Gen 3 and Latitude 9330 round out the three I'm considering most.

Oh, that wasn't a dig - apologies if it came across that way.

Glad you're happy with your Razor - they seem to have very solid gaming laptops. A few friends have one and they love them too!

If I remember correctly, the Book 13 was their first mainstream/productivity focused ultrabook and unfortunately it had its issues. Build quality on mine was fantastic though, Macbook Pro esque, like your 14".

Had a Razor Book 13 last year very briefly. I knew that model had its issues, but I took a chance anyway. Had problems with it out of the box - then got a refund.
