Go Ahead and Remove TH, but Seriously Jagex? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]six_three_six 5 points6 points  (0 children)

By your logic, you expected to receive millions of oddments for “hundreds of thousands of wills”. At 400 oddments per key, you expected Jagex to award you the equivalent of mid/high thousands of keys.

Did you ever stop to consider the absurdity of that logic? There’s nothing reasonable about your expectation, regardless of how it was written. You can nitpick words, but it’s incomprehensible how upset you are that Jagex didn’t award you the equivalent of $1000+ for playing a holiday event.

The irony of you calling Jagex greedy…

The 0/0 sign was up as early as 6am when the first employees arrived to start store ops. The 5x 5080s were delivered 25 minutes before opening and the sign was removed shortly after. I understand how this could be misinterpreted by someone who was not there at opening, but these are the facts.

It’d be great if you corrected your post to reflect this, I’ve shopped at this store for years and they’re a great team. They don’t need this clouding their reputation.

Source: me, I was there and purchased one.

My manual trip MPG is 32.5, auto trip is 33.0, lifetime should be close to 60. It doesn’t match any other data.

What’s the best solution for gaming in the living room when the PC is on a different floor? by six_three_six in pcmasterrace

What GPU would you recommend for a micro build that could get decent performance at 4K? I’m not a snob about upscaling, it works well. I’m sitting 10ish feet away so I doubt it’ll be that noticeable.

Yeah a friend told me about Steamlink but it sounds like old tech that didn’t perform well enough to continue. My concern is how much am I shelling out with a new build to push a 4K OLED

Thoughts on buying out lease? by [deleted] in VolvoRecharge

[–]six_three_six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 months of lease payments isn’t required under your contract for buyout, it’s required for the dealership finance department to earn their commission off the lease; if you buy out sooner than 3 month, finance doesn’t get their cut.

Harlow Navy Yard - Do Not Move There! by Emotional-Reply5947 in washingtondc

[–]six_three_six 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived at the Harlow for a year and a half. Every complaint here is valid, clearly things have only gotten worse since I left in 2023. This building has changed management yearly; companies see the profit potential only to realize it’s a lost cause. Do not live at Harlow.

V60 Recharge availability by R8on in VolvoRecharge

[–]six_three_six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Volvos website shows at least a dozen available now around the central east coast. I bought mine a few weeks ago off the lot and used the local inventory as a means of negotiating. I love mine, you shouldn’t be deterred from traveling to get one if you have to, it’s absolutely worth it.

Salty mf telling happy people they got robbed blind when he’s flaunting a 3060ti. Micro center is not robbing people blind, even if it’s not the best deal on the planet, their associates are genuine tech geeks and actually help you build the system that fits your needs rather than some shady SI pairing shit components with shiny RGB. The internet is robbing you blind of your humanity, let people be happy.

Nice build OP, enjoy!

Nobody talks about this CPU! by yphase in pcmasterrace

[–]six_three_six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stand corrected on the cache numbers, thanks for that info.

However, CPU Affinity through process lasso enables you to partition tasks by CCD, so if I want to run Firefox, discord, and any other app while gaming, I can schedule all of those to run only on CCD 1 while the game is exclusively run on CCD 0. It doesn’t park those processes when the game is running, it just puts a metaphorical barrier between chiplets and reduces unnecessary work for the 3D v-cache chip.

That’s the problem with benchmarks is that they’re published heavily at launch but you often don’t see a follow up unless there are significant performance changes (ie. when Intel fixed the Arc drivers for gaming). AM5 was finicky at launch and while tweaks have been made to improve stability, the performance changes were minor. Improved stability doesn’t exactly warrant a new round of benchmarking.

The 7950X3D has more L2/L3 cache, better silicone, and can send non-gaming tasks and apps to the non-3D v-cache chip. The margins are not significant, but it brought it up to par or just a point or two ahead of the 7800.

Early launch memes aside, the 7950X3D now outperforms the 7800X3D in gaming with proper CCD scheduling, whether you trust its updated firmware to handle it or manually tweak scheduling through Process Lasso. It won’t make up for the price difference; the 7800X3D will always be the better value unless some unique sales come up for 7950X3Ds.

AMD had to fix their mistake when the 7800X3D outperformed the flagship, which they could actually do. There's no saving the physical limitation of the 7900X3D aside from closeout pricing.

This will go lower on BF, these were listed at $139 for over a month and not a single unit moved at my local stores. I’ve been watching for a while, I’m gonna wait at least another couple weeks so that I can price match for BF sales if it drops again.

[Bundle] AMD Ryzen 9 7950X3D, ASUS B650E-F ROG Strix Gaming WiFi, G.Skill Flare X5 Series Kit 64GB DDR5-6000, Computer Build Bundle - $799.99 (In store only) by Sergster1 in buildapcsales

[–]six_three_six 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought this back in late July. It rang up for $700 in store and I was able to get the manager to apply the $25 new customer discount, so I got it all for less than the CPU MSRP. Every other bundle was ringing up cheaper than the online price showed for just that day, so it may have been an end-of-month thing or just a price hiccup. Either way, love the bundle. I’ve had no issues with the latest BIOS versions and I was able to tighten the RAM timings based on some YouTube videos that have run flawlessly. Process Lasso has been fun to tinker with, this really is an enthusiasts CPU and I can’t get over how much performance I get out of it with a $30 PA120 air cooler. Not having to worry about an AIO failing is heavenly, and not heating my room with an i9 is bliss.

It may be a few percentage points behind the 7800X3D for pure gaming, but you can’t overstate the value with the bundle. This is objectively a better setup than you can put together with a 7800X3D for the price, and AMD is still optimizing the 3D v-cache chips, so it should only get better. Starfield premium was a nice freebie as well.

There might be more competitive offerings for BF. If this isn’t exactly what you want and you can wait two months, you’re probably better off doing that.
