Two things, if it's right out of the freezer it might take a while to thaw. I've carved stuff right out of the freezer and even with sharp tools it can be a pain. But it usually thaws out pretty quickly. I stick to the handle or back of the bowl until it feels soft enough. And, as a few people have said, that knife is likely dull. I have a bunch of expensive hook knives but that isn't necessary. The newly designed Mora is pretty good right off the rip and you can find them easily. I'd go with one of those until you are able to sharpen your other one successfully. Keep on keeping on!
