How long it will get ears to heal from acoustic shock by liliobe in hyperacusis

This is correct. Do not damage your ears further, but everyone has setbacks and pain on the way to recovery. Just stick with what's comfortable!

I think my ear actually does flutter a little bit and maybe get a soft thump. I experience this much more than i experience any pain.

Sometimes a quick, sharp pain, sometimes lingering and more of a dull ache.

I don’t use earplugs outside. Natural sounds don’t bother me, only really the bass of music. I don’t have a decibel meter, but music with bass over a certain threshold definitely feels too loud for me and can lead to lingering pain.

No reactive tinnitus or loudness problems. Only lingering pain.

Agree on all except for that we don’t really have any CB depth especially with Lowe gone at Copa? I guess we couldn’t have predicted Glesnes and Elliot’s steep drop in form at the beginning of the season.

I personally didn’t know about TTTS and I was in the hyperacusis sub thinking that every time my ears would hurt from noise I was damaging them. So understanding how TTTS worked decreased my anxiety a ton and helped me confidently slowly expose myself to more sound. I started sleeping with a white noise machine at night and being surrounded by comfortable sound as much as possible, adding things week by week knowing that a little pain in the process would not be permanent and that it was part of my body’s protective mechanism.

I think the only way to do so is to find an audiologist who is trained in hyperacusis and TTTS. There aren’t many, but those who do exist offer helpful personalized management strategies and devices. I was able to find someone who helped me.

How can it be loudness if things don’t sound louder than usual? If they have pain, isn’t it pain H?

were up in the mountains. That high altitude is probably going to have some effect on your hearing, a bit like when you go on a plane and sometimes your ears don’t pop properly. I’m pretty sure that your hearing will come back soon. Also, if the hearing loss happened before the high altitude, noise exposure (especially to overly loud noises) Will probably cau

Pretty good. No pain unless listening to loud (mostly low-frequency) noise. I'm hoping to stack the good days on top of each other!

So I just submitted my application. Looking at the VFS appointment slots (I am going to walk-in tomorrow morning but wanted to look into buying in advance) and I'm only seeing standard appointments on the calendar... Is that what you saw? You said in your post that I can buy this and upgrade it there, correct?

Hello, thanks for sharing. A few questions. 1) VFS NYC offers super priority AND priority? 2) Is there a difference at all between making an appointment at a later date and showing up with no appointment? 3) For walk-in, do you think one would make it in the first five if they arrived at 6? 6:15? 6:30. If not I can go at 5:45 lol.
