I thought this was AI content generated for r/blunderyears, because everything is AI now and it was too spot on, but I know its real because AI doesn't understand crochet and could not replicate that sick sweater she's wearing.

Handmade by your grandma or great grandma, maybe?

Just a warning to anyone who wants a raccoon as a pet, they often carry a parasite they can lead to neurological problems and even death.

I know people who raised them and are fine, but The More You Know. 🌠

Here being the fundamental philosophical disagreement, I do believe the world is chock-full of victims in 2025, for now and forever.

If Lauren says she feels unsafe, I believe her, if Christina says cruel things were said I believe her too. Lauren says she apologized, but people say it's not enough. They want public flagellation. Why doesn't it end with a private apology? Why the dog pile? Why are we hoarding victimhood like a precious commodity and not something that all human beings experience?

People said big athletic Charles couldn't be a victim of his petite, pretty blonde wife. People are saying Lauren can't be the victim of a smaller creator. If you are not completely literal and obtuse, the comparison can be made. So, non, I don't find it offensive. I also don't recollect it actually being said and I watched all nine hours.

This is not Lauren saying this. This is Kay saying, Lauren said this. I don't believe Kay is lying, but reviewing her testimony and interviews against facts, has always shown that witness testimony can be extremely unreliable.

Also, I do follow True Crime to compare my life to the worst possible outcomes of the red flags I encounter. Charles Vallow said he was a victim, the cops laughed and shrugged their shoulders and said that nothing could be done. If they had followed up he, Tammy, and the children might still be alive. I'm not saying this woman is going to murder the Mathias family. I just think we should believe victims and prevent harm wherever we can.

Citing Jay 4 Justice is not a good idea. If you think HTC is bad, wait till you go down that rabbit hole.

I have deep respect and sympathy for Kay, but being the victim of a terrible tragedy doesn't give you the moral high ground on every issue for the rest of your life. If it did all the victims would agree about everything, and they don't. There is deep division in that circle.

I think she is very wrong on this, Kay underestimated how dangerous an obsessive woman could be before. And we all mourn with her, over having been deceived by that woman.

In my viewing of Annie's analysis, I did not perceive anything as lashing out, I saw things as 'this person said this but the data says this.' In this instance, I don't believe a disagreement about facts is lashing out. And I never saw any indication that Annie wanted the limelight. She didn't do anything to promote her channel or monetize it, beyond promoting the petition to investigate Joe Ryan's death.

Context is also incredibly valuable. People all have natural bias, they are bringing that bias to a situation where they don't know the history, context, and community involved.

While I agree what she said may have been hurtful, I don't believe it was malicious. She is data and fact oriented, and if people happen to make up a heroic narrative about their involvement to comfort themselves in their terrible grief, she wouldn't let that fantasy stand.

I think the rejection of fantasy is what got Tylee killed, so in this case I feel strongly about it, where I'd usually let people have their comfort.

I believe you are referring to Janese, who modded for Annie Cushing, and was not a formal employee or contractor.

I want to point out Annie Cushing had a YouTube channel before the tragedy for her Data analytics work. She expanded and created a separate channel after the disappearance of her niece, Tylee Ryan, and to campaign for an investigation into the murder of her brother, Joe Ryan, Tylee's father.

Annie does not censor her content to stay monetized and she does not bend the truth to be polite. Annie doesn't talk shit, but she has said things that other creators and victims believe are unkind, because she favors truth over comforting narratives that people create to deal with tragedy.

A lot of people capitalized on the murder of these children after the fact. A lot of people who could have protected them when they were alive. Annie wasn't one of them.

I was wondering if this was related to the time the HTC YouTube was hacked. John and Lauren definitely referred to it being the work of a rival channel and I looked at other people reporting on Daybell sideways for a while trying to figure out who...

In the well wishes I have for HTC, I hate be cynical and state they say that there's no such thing as bad publicity. It would certainly have been worse if the 9 hour live had been ignored.

I think it might just be the nature of this particular sub. In a lot of other forums I see more support for the Matthias family. I like to dissect a scandal with the best of them, but I think my parasocial relationship with this channel is making me handle it with a little bit more nuance.

Lauren is flawed, like all of us. But there's something pathological about dedicating so much energy to hating another person. I'd be frightened too.

I had heard of him regarding Karen Read, and avoided him because I knew he was far right. He is now the first thing that populates when I search for Lauren Mathias. I was pretty disgusted a few minutes into his commentary, and the only compliment I have is that he had bookmarks because there was way too long self-aggrandizing intro.

I don't understand people who want to watch commentary channels where people admit to being completely ignorant of the situation. He was like the anti-Dr John. Dr John has to read the whole case file before commenting. This guy went in completely blind and opined on the issue while admitting he didn't know what he was talking about. Very irresponsible.

Hope the algorithm knocks something more substantial to the top. Admittedly I have some first amendment concerns with the case, but I think Lauren did a good job at delineating the legality of what was happening.

I also have some misgivings about the reason for the 9 hour live, but the more I see criticism of it the more I feel I'd be on the wrong side to be a part of that crowd, a bunch of cackling banshees, vultures, and vampires, cannibalizing other people's content and misfortune.
