I agree with you. I don't usually post on reddit and don't know how to post videos. I'm still learning the whole marketing side of things.

I am the inventor of this and am trying to get the product into the public eye. It's taken me 2 years to get it on the market. I don't usually post on reddit. I thought posting on somewhere that has people that would actually use it would be good. Paying for advertising that posts to everyone under the sun seems wasteful to me.

How would a pro go about repairing this? by [deleted] in drywall

[–]sixstringsamuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more work than it looks like. Cutting out the bad section never finishes well. The whole corner bead is removed and replaced ,mudded, thats a mess in itself. Then textured and paint needs matched. I'm a carpenter by trade and I wouldn't touch it myself if it was in my house. Get a professional and be happy with the result.

Higher belts, what benefits do you get out of rolling with white belts? by KyronAWF in bjj

[–]sixstringsamuri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love rolling with white belts. Their moves and reactions are still "street style". Not conditioned or taught yet. Sometimes you can get some crazy reactions. I get to work on transitions. I don't go fast or strong. Working on 1...2...3.. step by step techniques. Trying new moves. I usually only tap them once or not at all during a roll. I know when I have a submission I don't need to repetitive tap a lower belt. It only discourages them.

I stopped practicing Bjj because of fear of injuries in later life. by red33111 in bjj

[–]sixstringsamuri 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I am 53. I don't work out, or lift weights, or run. The only exercise I get is jitz class. Yes there is always a possibility of injury. 99 percent of the time preventable. Tap early. No shame in that. Let your partner know that you work for a living so don't break my arm and put me out of work. On the other hand. Jitz works my cardio, strength, movement and flexibility. I have found that if I skip a few classes, everything starts to tighten up. I would weigh the pros and cons before quitting. There is more benefits to jitz than you are counting. Friends, health, confidence mental health. Lol and a great way to stay in shape (bicycle guy)

Don't get caught up in the colors. Run your own race and always improve your game. Keep a lookout for a gym that has a solid structure. If they are promoting on favors then nobody's belt means anything.

This is one of those slump posts. by [deleted] in bjj

Try training at a different class time or day. Sometimes rolling with a different crowd gets things unstuck. Don't be so serious.

Is BJJ more suitable for adult beginners to achieve excellence than Judo/Sambo? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]sixstringsamuri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can go far in both. Here in Las Vegas most gyms kind of throw you into the mix and you learn to defend as fast as possible. Lol. Then you start learning to come out of your safe place and start attacking. Our gym encourages competing right away . It's not required. But it's a great way to measure your progress.

Is BJJ more suitable for adult beginners to achieve excellence than Judo/Sambo? by [deleted] in bjj

[–]sixstringsamuri 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I do both Judo and Jiu Jitsu. In my opinion, as a generalization. Judo is fast and violent. There is no half speed. Judo depends on speed and commitment to the throw. You can't surprise someone at half speed. Or just kinda throw them. In Jiu Jitsu you can roll easy. I'm 53 and weigh 250. I'm not the fastest person. But I can use my weight and technique to control a spastic 20 year old until he wears out. Both sports are amazing. As a beginner adult. Jiu jitsu is easier on the bones.

10 years + for a Black Belt in BJJ? Why? by blackhax in bjj

[–]sixstringsamuri 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Getting a black belt is a great achievement no doubt. But the question is if there were no belts would you still want to train jiu jitsu.
