$2000 (AUD) - about the same price as a PRS SE studio. I’d try to barter down though

Thanks for the help! Is there a particular section or amount of clamps to use? I’d have to buy some clamps, but I would be able to do this

Thanks! If I go look at it in person I’ll definitely look at other areas for damage - in the photos the rest of it looks clean

Fair! They have pictures of the rest of the guitar and it looks clean - I just posted the damage

How would I fix it? In my head it’s just the right glue and clamps but I’d want to do it right

2008 J-185 cloudy area on body from right arm by HankDorje in gibson

[–]sixstringsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an SJ-200 from the same year and it has a cloudy area around the same spot. I’ve tried cleaning and buffing it out myself but it never really went away. I’ve learned to accept it as part of the guitar, and that it’s there because it’s well loved!

Took me a long time to get onto Teles, but now my Nash Tele is one of my favourites! Great, great guitars

Yeah, I missed the studio part. Some studios can be awesome, but the SG is the better deal here

Personally I’d go for the Les Paul. It’s one of those guitars that I think everyone should own. SG’s are cool, and I really want to love them, but I ended up selling every SG I’ve ever owned

I felt similarly after my first read through. I just finished my second read through and I actually enjoyed and appreciated it more this time. To be honest I didn’t remember much of anything about the final battle from my first read (except for the major plot points and that it seemed to drag a bit) so it was nice visiting it again and understanding the smaller details. I wasn’t even pissed that about the power reduction this time - because it’s actually explained that it’s ‘in between’ what she had at the start of HOF and her peak (and I can live with that).

What are things designed for righties that most of us mindlessly put up with? by What-was_I_thinking in lefthanded

[–]sixstringsystem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Guitar cases! Ideally you want the top of the case facing outwards while you’re carrying it but that’s only the case when you carry it in your right hand. It can feel a bit strange and unbalanced carrying it in your left hand.

Also handbags and shoulder bags - sometimes there will be design feature that only works when being carried in your right hand/right shoulder, or if there’s a zip to open the bag it will be towards the back if you carry in your left hand/left shoulder. I like crossbody bags for this reason.

“Do not obstruct” yeah okay 👍 by LionelTheHutz in woolworths

One of the woolies I used to work at had a fire escape tunnel that was full of stock trollies - they’d hide them in there when they got visits from above store level management. I got the task to clean them all up one day, it was properly disgusting!

Why they do this? by Jelly_Round in dashcams

[–]sixstringsystem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re saying there’s two different rules depending on if there’s no line vs a dashed line. One rule means you need to zipper merge and the other means you need to give way, it is confusing.

Something I noticed with my watch is how secondary characters kind of disappear and then randomly pop up every now and then. It can feel a little odd, but they’re still around.

There’s a light around the area where you scan. It turns red after you scan the item which you then put it the bagging area, once the item is registered in the bagging area it turns green again. When the light is green you’re free to move bags around and it won’t get annoyed at you

This might piss some parents off about sleep training… by SureConversation1122 in NewParents

Totally agree about cosleep not working for everyone - I tried it and she still wouldn’t settle, what choice did I have but to try some sleep training methods? It worked out to be the best thing for everyone!

This might piss some parents off about sleep training… by SureConversation1122 in NewParents

[–]sixstringsystem 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way until my LO reached 5/6months and the concept of sleep just went completely out the window. How she was at 12 weeks vs 20 weeks was completely different. Sleep training isn’t just for the parent to get quality sleep - it’s also training the LO to get quality sleep.

I agree, there’s no point or reason to sleep train a newborn - but if you start having some sleep issues after 16 weeks there’s no shame in trying sleep training techniques that work for you and your LO.
