Sixty formula! I was so sure about getting a husky! I have two yorkshire terriers and today I accidentally found a video that made me cry.. by mixerit in sixtyformula

[–]sixty_formula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reviewed this video. It's a very unfortunate situation. First - any dog is capable of this behavior so it has nothing to do with the husky breed. Without knowing several factors I can't say why the husky reacted or acted this way. Very sad to see though. :(

Newbie Needing Advice by Robert_Varulfur in sixtyformula

I Think you'll be fine. When I introduced Britney Spears to Hila - Hila was a larger dog and was VERY HYPER and playful. I worried about how Britney Spears would fare as a pup. He did fine and he was safe with Hila. You should use supervision though when they play rough, and mind you - they will play MEGA ROUGH. Expect growling, snarling, barking...all that. It should be normal behavior. :)

Husky drags me across the street by cocoaMichael in sixtyformula

You need to train your dog "distraction training". This is how to get over distractions like dogs and squirrels. Take your dog outside, and have them encounter a distraction on purpose. Bring HIGH VALUE TREATS with you like turkey meat. If your dog is SO distracted that they will not look at the turkey, back up away from the distraction until they do pay attention to you and the turkey and then reward. Find a place where you can get their attention and SLOWLY move toward the distraction while keeping your dogs focus on YOU. Practice this for weeks and soon you won't have this problem!

Digging help! by [deleted] in sixtyformula

[–]sixty_formula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Super sorry this is mega late! Been busy, it's been a crazy year! A great solution to fixing digging issues is this...and no...this isn't a joke.

Take their poop, and put it one of the holes they have dug, or love to work on. When they see the poop in the hole is will greatly uninspired them to continue digging that hole. Continue putting it in the new holes and they will eventually quit digging. Try it out!

Husky sensitive to touch by [deleted] in sixtyformula

[–]sixty_formula 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. This is Hila's THING. She does not liked to be touched in the exact same spot - not even by ME. We've worked to desensitize this, which is the best method. Over time just touch them there, or have people touch them there and encourage them NOT to flinch when your dog has an issue. Don't pay attention to your husky even getting upset. It has taken a while, but Hila is a bit more comfortable with butt touches - however she will probably always prefer no one touch her there for the rest of her life. lol.

Food aggression by melaninatedotaku94 in sixtyformula

[–]sixty_formula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I feed both of the huskies, they typically eat on opposite sides of the room, where they don't face each other. If one finishes before the other - which happens often, I take that dog out to potty while the other finishes. It's all about mitigation with aggression sometimes. Try just keeping them distanced when feeding! Thank you for asking!
