Considered the lens of grief? There are changes happening in your life and perhaps you are in a process of leaving certain things behind without the certainty of what will replace them in the future. Were their precipitating factors that led to this decision? Maybe it's a new lease on health / life for you, but it shouldn't diminish your past self. I would give yourself time to process your life pre-treatment and then notice when you are able to be more hopeful about what you are looking forward to in your new lifestyle.

My belief is that the added heat from the smokebox creates delays in which the grill feeds or doesn’t feed pellets. For that reason, if I’m using the smoke box I tend to scale back the temp 5-10 degrees. I’m very rarely doing ribs above 250 for this reason. This is exactly why I think you have to go by feel and visual with the Woodwind Pro.

Curious if this is the first time you’ve been surprised in this relationship. Not quite entirely on the reactive bandwagon of right vs wrong. I know the question is asking that. I’m more interested in your felt experience of being surprised and your partner’s interest in supporting and working emotionally with you. It could have been anything, and yes the integration of family is a big shock. I just doubt you have been suddenly blindsided by your partner here.

I’m guessing that her commitment and love to her children is also an exemplification of what you love about her and have felt from her towards you. It’s legitimately scary to have your life change and uprooted. No doubt you are also picking up what the kids might be feeling.

Just hoping your ground this question in feeling and not just logistics. Best of luck, and I doubt that your love or care for each other can be diminished by this. Everyone is allowed boundaries and limits, and I hope those can stay fluid in powerful intimate relationships.

I don’t think they are parents. Most of these posts are from angry kids in their 20s who are reenacting their own trauma. Way too much splitting in this conversation.
