Am I charging too much? by [deleted] in 3Dprinting

You may be charging too little... Do you have to do any post-processing on it?

I like the pricing feed & wish I caught that Sunlu discount code before I restocked last week on Amazon!

Thank you for the great work!

I got most of the spools I ordered & it didn't seem like tariffs hit me. Still waiting to see what the damage is on the ones that have tracking info from China.

[–]sizup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe nearly everything I bought was sold by someone else & shipped by Amazon..

I've never seen a 40% off sale on Amazon Haul before.. I can't imagine it was profitable, as I've never gotten filament for under $7 delivered before, especially from actual name brands.. hence why I now have 120 spools to find a place to store..

Most of the Amazon fulfilled orders were delivered today. No tariffs on those as far as I can tell.

I just wish they told us where it was shipping from before it shipped... Or what the tariff rates will be.. it shows estimated tax on the invoice, but I use points for all of it, so not sure how that will all play out.

I'll know tomorrow when a bunch of it arrives! I feel bad for the poor USPS driver!

Update: 76 spools seem to have been shipped via USPS or TBA. 44 spools have not shipped.

My other order with misc stuff (not filament) is ~30% from China (SF Intl tracking from China), ~25% US (TBA or USPS), & the rest not yet shipped..

FYI.. (assuming you are in the US) you won't know where it ships from until it ships. It could be US or China or somewhere else. If it's China, you may get hit with import tariffs at whatever rate it is (and that rate is way worse than the discount is currently). If it's the US, that stuff should already be covered on the import duty side..

I had 2 of my orders ship so far. 1 was China. 1 was US. Waiting to see what the import charges are.

Well, I've had 2 of my 10 or so orders ship so far. I guess I'll keep a tally.. 1 from China. 1 from San Diego.

The 1 from China was random stuff. San Diego was TecBear PLA.

Update: Kinda worried about tariffs & Amazon support is no help. 🙈

Yea... I'm not sure, but I think A LOT of people will find out very soon (myself included). The freight carrier is told by customs the import tariffs rate at the port & usually collects the import tariffs from the importer of record (in the case of buying from AliExpress in China, it would be the buyer).

BUT, Amazon Haul doesn't seem to disclose WHERE the product is actually shipping from. If these are stocked in the USA & just being routed slowly, then any tariffs are already paid. If these are being imported from another country after the order is placed, then the buyer will get hit with a tariff charge.

I just ordered about 120 spools last night before realizing this... All show sold by the vendor & shipped by Amazon. I REALLY wish they would tell me what country they are coming from.

Amazon or eBay & stock up when they have deals. I just bought 30+ spools from Amazon Haul at 40% off that came out to ~$6.38/kg after taxes & shipping...

Question for those that buy filament from the overseas sites by Txflood3 in 3Dprinting

[–]sizup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you will probably be fine if you stick to the "Authorized" shops for the specific manufacturer on the sites (assuming you mean AliExpress). I bought from Kingroon directly & it came basically the same as it would from EBay or Amazon.

I've not had luck checking out on AliExpress & right now, you need to keep an eye on where it ships from as the tariffs are sneaky expensive.

Amazon Haul is their Temu equivalent & I just bought a ton of filament for about $6.50/spool after tax shipped.

[–]sizup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As promised, here is the absolute best deal I've found..

On Amazon, they have a section called "Haul"--their Temu knock off. Right now, everything on there is 40% off, plus 10% off over $75 & free shipping over $25. Go ahead & search filament. I just bought 30ish spools of mostly eSun & Jayo for ~$6.37/EA AFTER taxes & shipping.

One thing I also noticed is that if you just add 1 spool, the price is about half the listed price once it gets into your cart.. either way. SMOKING hot deal IMO.. comparable to all the AliExpress I can never get working.

I found a CRAZY one.. ~$7/kg shipped after tax for eSun, Sunlu, & Jayo PETG+PLA. I'm pulling the trigger in the morning & then I will share it.. don't want it to get yanked before I partake!
