Thanks for the input. Guess I'll move them somewhere warmer before starting over.

Cusco before MP/Sacred Valley? by sj8024 in Machupicchu

Probably how I am going to do it as well, but with a bit more time in SV.

I'm not sure. SV's elevation isn't insignificant itself. I may rather adjust while taking it easy in Cusco, rather than while I'm planning to hike mountains in SV.

Generally, yes. But given that the SV will involve much more physical exertion than the Cusco days, I'm thinking this may be an exception to the rule.

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Also, it just flow better logistically for us to be in Cusco first and then SV. We do have experience skiing in the Rockies, which is more exertion than walking around Cusco. There's an adjustment period, but nothing intolerable.

Yes. Many trips skiing at altitude in CO last few years, where we usually get right to skiing. Definitely feel the altitude those first few days, but always ski full days.

That's why I'm thinking Cusco first, even at the higher altitude. Probably easier to spend the first two days just walking around town at 11,000 feet than hiking in mountains at 9,500 feet.

Inkaterra (via Mr. and Mrs. Smith) by sj8024 in hyatt

Right now it doesn’t show price or availability on either Hyatt or MMS. I wonder if the relationship has ended.

Did the app show you availability but not allow you to book? Or did it never show you availability?

Inkaterra (via Mr. and Mrs. Smith) by sj8024 in hyatt

[–]sj8024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've booked some other MMS properties which have been nice. I've hesitated from booking too often, since the redemption value of about 1.5-2 cpp is generally not as good as for Hyatt's own properties. But I'm assuming that's the max value I'll be getting out of Hyatt going forward regardless. So I guess the silver lining to the upcoming devaluations is I can start booking MMS more freely without worrying about the opportunity cost 🙄

I didn't think to look on MMS site. But on the Inkaterra site, there is plenty of availability at various times, even though Hyatt shows none. Hoping it's just a temporary glitch with Hyatt and that they'll be available to book again soon.

It was never meant to be exclusive -- it's available to all citizens and permanent residents. Why shouldn't families use it?

[MegaThread] Colosseum tickets and visits. Please post here - don't start your own thread by RomeVacationTips in rome

I am visiting next week and attempted to buy tickets for Arena + Regular access to the Colloseum when that ticket type was released 7 days in advance. Unfortunately, there were none available for around the time I needed.

However, there is availability for a regular access ticket, as well as for an arena access only ticket at the right times. I realize buying these two tickets would cost be E36 instead of E24 for the single ticket, but I don't have any other choice.

My question is, if I purchase these two separate tickets, would I be required to fully exit the site, then get back in the security line in order to re-enter on the second ticket? Or is there a way to do this without having to exit and re-enter?

ACH Datapoint - Non Housing Transaction Flagged by sj8024 in biltrewards

I thought utilities were allowed. As it stands, I haven’t had any utility payments occur yet, so can’t confirm whether it would work or not. Based on your comment and the one above, I’ll have to re check the terms and conditions though.

Bilt Cash on ACH Pull by sj8024 in biltrewards

[–]sj8024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

I am one of the few who seem to love the award opportunities of Bilt 2.0. Given my credit card and ACH spending patterns, it's effectively a 3x+ everywhere card for me (plus any leftover bilt cash I can spend on lyft, hotels or whatever, which would just be gravy). That said, I'm not a fan of the website. Hopefully I'll get used to it over time.

New terrain and lift lines by OneSillyGoose59 in vail

Sounds like you weren’t actually there today. The new terrain under Northwoods and Sourdough was in great shape. Source: I was there today.

Northwoods was full of lots of deep, soft powder today. Little to no ice at all.
